Curious battle really. Thankfully it's just played back to back and hasn't been done as some kind of mash up.
Tubular Bells is one of the classics of it's genre, but isn't really a scary horror tune in my opinion and although The Exorcist was seen as a fantastic horror and I personally love the movie, it's really mellowed out on me over the years and isn't seen as nearly as scary as it was when it was first made, partially due to the overkill of parody that was the Nancy peasoup scene. Halloween on the other hand is in my opinion the single most scary pieces of horror movie music ever composed and Carpenter was an absolute genius at getting the mood just right for his movies. Halloween is one of the few films that still have me hiding behind a pillow, decades after first watching it.
So...
For me it has to be Halloween that wins this, simply on the grounds of the context the music was used.
The halloween soundtrack has to be one of the creepiest bits of cinema music , very simple but effective.
