I searched on goggle, and came across this site, and read what fixed other peoples problems, but none of them worked for me. I just reinstalled Windows XP Professional Edition SP2 Version 2002. I can access my user accounts, I can access my control panel, but when I try to run this single .exe file I get this error.
I have tried to right click it and run it as a administrator but that didn't work. I have no idea what is causing the problem or how to go about fixing it. Any guidance would be great. Thanks.
Possibly Administrator permissions or file ownership, make sure your logged in as admin on the computer.
If it's not that, go to the Microsoft help site, or to the site directly responsible for the file your trying to run, there may be a known issue.
Please do not post spam links on Total Format though. We suspect that is the intention of this account, as this IP and username was highlighted by one of our known spam blacklists. Spam advertising on Total Format gets the email address, username and IP address blacklisted on over 30,000 forums, as well as reported to ISP.
Not sure what a spam link is, or how I could have possibly be on your black list, since I just signed up for this site this afternoon so I could make the post about my issue to see if anyone knew how to fix it.
As for administrator, I have my one account I log into that has admin set up on it, and I have even checked the security tab of the file and it shows I have full access to the file. I also created a third account with admin rights to see if that would do it and it too wasn't able to load the file. I also can't copy the file or move it to any other folder after it has been downloaded. As for speaking with the source of where I got the file, that simply isn't possible. Any other ideas?
Sorry if this looked like I was spamming your site, as that wasn't my intention, nor do I know how I could of possibly gotten on that list you have. Like I said, I just signed up this afternoon so I could make the post. Is it cause I posted a photobucket picture?
Maybe one of the other sites you use or have used, has added you to one or more of the many spam advertiser blacklists on the internet, It happens and generally it is a pretty accurate guide, for example 20 out of the last 20 sign ups to Total Format prior to this account, that have set off the alarm, have proven to be spam advertisers... Not all sites check for that kind of freely available information, Total Format does though, as spam advertisers seem to be rather fond of targetting us.
I can't think of any other reasons for a file not to work if it is designed to in that fashion off hand. Maybe one of TFs genial computer types can help you better once they wake up.
What other sites could have put me on that list? I don't sign up to forums just to spam them, I sign up to them when I need help. There something I can do to get off that list?
Do a search on Google for the username sw204me see which one's are actually you (I found approximately 380 instances of the username when I just checked), then go and check to see if you've recieved any kind of warning, ban or anything like that, if so, send an email to the admin over there and ask them which blacklist they added you to and why they did.
I can not and will not disclose the sources I use for Total Format however, as that is private aond confidential information that is used and needed on a daily basis for the security of this site.
However, one of the lists Total Format personally add spam advertisers to ourselves is this one: Stop Forum Spam - Forum Banlist If you'd found your way onto that one, as many spam advertisers to Total Format have in teh past, that's pretty much a guarenteed ban from around 30,000 different forums, so I doubt your listed on that one.
Yea, I wasn't on that list. I have tried to sign up to sites under this name and it has been taken, which kinda shocks me but at the same I can see why it would be kinda popular:
SW20 - Engine Code for the MR2 Turbo
4 - # of cylinders in the engine
ME - Mid-engine
So I can see why it would be used a lot. I just want you to know it was not my intent to spam and that I am truly here to try and get this problem figured out or at least a way to work around it. I did try to open the file on my other computer and it opened fine, and I was able to move the file all over the place, so something is wrong with my set-up on this machine.
Is this a file you've downloaded from the internet? If so, can you not just re-download the file again?
What folder is the file in, can you move the file to a different folder on that machine? That would help us know if it is an ownership issue or something like that.
Have you had any issues with any other files on that machine?
Is the file dependent upon you having the latest version of Windows installed? I know some programs won't work unless SP3 is installed for example.
its becoming an all too common problem the issue of false spam blackilisting.
theres only 4 billion IP addresses and probably about half that number of spammers lol.
I love those windows error messages, they are such a joke, i mean surly it should realy know if it was a file device or path ? and it says you may not have permission, again surly it should know ?
quite often its simply a missing or badly installed library file.
Despite your masking of the pic, its pretty obvious that the "Blizzard" refers to the fairly well known piracy group not the game producer. The missing word in "Ultramon3.001.beta1.incl.______-Blizzard" wouldnt be "keymaker" would it? I dont personally care, but i dont think many people on this site will appreciate it.
We dont know what file youre running, you probably dont either, it could be a lot of things given the source isnt an official one.

I wasn't aware it was connected to illegally downloaded software. I didn't connect the ...'s. Thank you Pura, I wouldn't want Total Format falling foul of the authorities.

Piracy of any nature, including people known to be using pirated software is not allowed on Total Format as piracy is an illegal activity that is punishable in a court of law and can come with a prison sentence. I suggest that no further posts be made that refer to or give any kind of indication that pirated software may be involved, otherwise, not only will they be deleted, the account, it's IP address and all relevent information will be passed onto the relevent authorities, as well as added to every blacklist known to Total Format.
