monitor driver troubles...

the story goes my brother bought a new computer as in a fully new spec, anywho its all ok now apart from the monitor drivers do not work, the disc that came with the monitor are apparently the wrong ones so i decided to go to the home site and download the correct ones after trying to run this set-up his system receieves the error "parameter is incorrect" personally ive never heard of such an error...


i looked it up tried a few things ;ole moving the set-up onto his computer first instead of running it through a network etc but meh im clueless >.<

...any help is muchly appreciated in advance ^_^

first of all, download the correct driver to the pc's own desktop,
go into control panel > system > hardware > device manager and uninstall
the monitor completely from that location,
shut down the pc, and unplug the pc and monitor from the mains for 1 minute,
plug in the pc only
let it boot to the desktop and let everything load ( until the HDD light is hardly blinking)

then plug in the monitor's electricity supply, and turn it on,
windows will detect the monitor and perfrom a clean install,
when the hardware wizard asks for software, point it to the folder
on the desktop that contains the downloaded driver files.
