Delusion help!

got my lappy and pc on direct cable! they just share internet.

pc is win98se and has the braodband onit, and laptop is winxp, been working fine for the last serveral months, but the last few weeks the pc refususe to share! somedays it will, others it refuses too got it to work last time cos i had to format pc, but dont wanna have to format again

ne advice wod be greatly appreciated

edit: we have tried getting laptop to share, but we dont have floppy drive to convert info to pc

Connect the two systems together and use the "Repair" option for your network connection. Might work...

i used to have lots of problems with windows 98 and ME connecting, if the client had started before the server, the server would require the client pc to restart and 'relogin'.

never really sure why it did it, but was fixed when i got xp on the server pc.

only thing i could sugest is making sure the pc internet connection is setup, then plugin the network and set that up on networking wizard that im sure windows 98 must have, then setup on xp aswell so it knows its sharing via the other connection, this could sync some settings.
