Game of the week (18-10-2006): Curveball

I'm gonna start a game of the week challenge for everyone.
If you read through this whole post I hope it will make this clear for you

Which game?
To start with i'm gonna take one of the classic games named

Curveball.

What do you need to do?
Play the game and get an as high possible score (no tournament game)

Why should i do it?
The person who is the champion of that game (could be an old still standing champion) receives 500 bonus Pu + you can keep any Pu won from the jackpot of that game, this jackpot increases every time the game is played (or so i believe at this moment lol, so correct me if i'm wrong here)

Rules?
Don't cheat
You can play the game as many times as you want until the time is over.
Only scores registered by the arcade count (so if your score isn't submitted for some reason it's just bad luck)

When is this week over?
Thursday 26/10/2006 normally around 7 am GMT

That's a nice idea. Would be an idea for The Dev if they could build that into the arcade. Random Game of the week with bonus reward.

Wouldn't really need the dev to sort that out, I could pretty much do something like that manually, simply by changing the price or jackpot of the game, only thing is, half the game would be finding out which game had the bonus jackpot in the first place.

30K high score on Curveball... Well, considering my highest ever score on Curveball since TF began, was 28K, not much point me trying that one.....

How about making one of the Tetris games, the bonus game...

Before the game got reintroduced in the arcarde again my best score on curveball was like 26.000, now i tried it again and i can easily get 28.000. Maybe something changed in the scoring? Or does it mean the older you get the better?


I will look into the option of a tetris game for next week

Nah don't make it Tetris, not being funny, but there really is no serious competition, i've only had one Tetris title taken away from me genuinely in 3yrs on TF.

We don't just have the arcade, we do also have brand new versions of games like Yahtzee and Sudoku in the arcade section too and Battleships should be making it's first live appearance at some stage today too and they all record highscores.

Ah battleships,used to annoy everyone with that game as id always place my ships together.No one suspects such a crap game-plan
