Don't you just hate the attack/defense randomness

It seems it doesn't matter much how much defense/attack you have.
I fought Kuja had 1016 hp left.... but it seems cause of the randomness out of my 1220 defense, i got almost no (less as 84) defense and Kuja just did a good hit. Out of his attack, more as 1016 out of 1100.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could have a certain base amount of attack and defense? Like 20% of your amount of strength and defense is your base attack/defense and the rest above those base stats is random.
So if you got like 1000 strength, you would always do hits of atleast 200 strength(defense of opponent not looked at) and have atleast 200 defense.

This way you can have a lower amount of hp to be 100% sure of not losing a fight. Now when i need to fight opponents with 1100 till 1200 strength, i should try to keep my health above 1100 till 1200 hp, otherwise i could still die and lose my fight

With the 20% base defense, it would only be something like 900-1000, which is easier to maintain with only 1300 hp

In the beginning it doesn't matter that much, but i can see it being something frustrating once you need to fight harder and harder bots

yeah for a while i thought, for example if i had 1000 defence then no bot with less than 1000 str could hit me.
but its not like that, it seems to be a random roll between 0 and max for both attack and defence.

and im not quite sure where evasion comes into it.

i did find out a cool (or not so cool) thing about exp though. babybear you probably already noticed this.... but if you lose 1 fight, your exp per fight drops like a rock. to about 25%.
so try not to die.

This randomness is doing my head in >_< I wish you could add some kind of luck, so you have a better chance of rolling higher.

Yeh i agree, woteva bot im battling, sometimes i can take 2k hp off them in a hit then it'll be 33hp or something pathetic next hit. I'm losing sooooooo many battles atm, it sux
