Curveball League I happen to have noticed quite a few people getting good at the game and so why not set up a league! The game is very quick and yet ideal because “if you mess up” you still have 4 lives to compensate for the score! Volunteer now to take part in the league! Hopefully quite a few people will join and I’m hoping to create 2 (or more) divisions! What league you will be in will be based upon your highest score. People have five days in which to prove themselves and try to qualify for the top division by scoring their highest possible mark (if you don’t appear on the top ten don’t worry your score can still be seen by everyone else no matter how low it is) The size of the league(s) will depend upon how many people join i.e. 16 peeps 2 divisions of 8 people. Limit for people joining is 40, however I must ask if you’re not a regular user of the forums who cannot commit to the league please do not bother entering, no matter how good you are :S If after one season the league (s) actually work out and more want to join another new league will be created at the bottom i.e. conference ![]() How the league will work Fixtures Fixtures will be created by me based on alphabetical order of the players in each league. Each player will play each other twice (works similar to football season, you play a player once, then play everyone else again before you play that person again). Points for league Win 2 points Draw 1 point each Defeat 0 points Points scored in matches (goal difference) If people are drawing in the league on points gained from wins/draws they will be separated by points scored in their matches. All the points they score per match will be added to a total that will be displayed in the league table. Unlike football where the amount of points conceded by a team is deducted from their goal difference, what the other person scores against you will not effect your points as with curveball you cannot stop your opponent from gaining a high score. Rules Each ”match day” will be held within a period of 4 days! I will release the fixtures to be played on a specific day and this match must be completed within the 4 day period. For example Date 27/1/04 Match: Osborne vs Vamp Match: Apollz vs Trixta These matches must be completed before 1/2/04 23:30 Each player must issue a challenge to the other person if they have not been issued a challenge already (in other words as soon as you see your fixture up you must issue a challenge to that person for curveball) I presume one of the two players will log on during this 4 day time period. When you issue a challenge you must send me a confirmation P/M to say that a challenge has been issued by yourself for a match against a certain player. If for example Apollz logs onto Arcade and finds that Trixta has already issued a challenge then there is no need for him to issue a challenge back to Trixta (common sense ) although Trixta must send a confirmation PM telling me that a challenge has been made. What if the match doesn’t get played? If your opponent doesn’t respond to your request for a match within the 4 day limit they forfeit the match. You receive the 2 points and for the points that would have been scored within that particular match will be recorded as an average of your score at the end of the season. For example, Apollz scores 90000 from 10 games, his average score is 9000 and so this is added to his match score which means his total match score is 99000. If neither play each other no-one gets points and no-one gets added match points based on their average score at the end of the season What if my score isn't recorded? As you know sometimes a score isn't recorded, this also happens during challenges. Everyone must take a snap of their score on their final life to prove what score they had. Ok you might score alot of points on your final life and the snap shot doesn't record this but there is no other way ![]() If you don't know how to take a snap shot just press the "print screen button" on your keyboard and then after the match goto edit and paste in paintbrush and there is the snap shot you took of the match and the proof of the score you had ![]() If you do not take a snap shot and your score isn't recorded the match will be forfeited by you. It sounds harsh I know but it's the only way around the possibility of people cheating. Sorry ![]() Results of the match When a match has been played a player must forward the results to me via pm. The match will be recorded onto the league table. Relegation/Promotion Obviously the winner of the top division is champion however based upon the size of the league and even if there are two divisions there will be promotion/relegation battles on hand. Depending upon certain sizes of the league some players will receive automatic promotion whilst others will go into play offs similar to football. Hope that wasn’t too hard for anyone to figure out! You have Five days to gain a top score if you want to enter! Deadline is 1st February at 11:30 Good Luck! (don’t move to arcade section >_< ) Last edited by Ago Vita; 28-01-2004 at 01:23. |

Having said that just because I'm top scorer doesn't mean I'll win the league, they're are quite a few capable of beating me in a one off match. |
