A Tale In The DesertA Tale in the Desert is a massively multiplayer online game set in Egypt. Ancient Egypt was a land steeped in history, achievements and wonder; a feral continent capable of turning bleak as quickly as bountiful, fallen as suddenly as fertile. Yet through it all, its robust people have woven a rich tapestry and, with the aid of a staunch belief in their almighty, overseeing gods and pharaoh, they constructed a civilization unlike any other in all antiquity. Relive a time when greatness was born not of weapons and armor, but of productivity and solidarity. Do you have what it takes to rise above the hardships you will face?
This is an official ATITD newsletter that was posted, which we missed for some reason, that we thought we'd catch up on... There should be the updated newsletter posted soon.

Citizens of Egypt,
I am writing to announce our 3rd official Player Meet, which will take place in Pittsburgh, PA, Friday, from February 27 through March 1. It is at our official player meets that Legacy Tests, designed by monument leaders from the previous Tale, are refined. In addition to business, we'll have a full weekend of activities, including stat-raising meals, a visit to a hookah bar to refine our fumeology skills (Welcome to Sphinx Cafe!), and a visit to Phipps Conservatory (Pittsburgh Attractions | Phipps Conservatory), where practice of the Foraging skill is unfortunately discouraged.
Details, including car pooling from the airport can be found at:
If you'd like to join everyone, remember to purchase a pet Monkey in-game ($75). Each Monkey comes with complimentary admission to the player meet, including all Saturday meals and activities.
Also, earlier this week, Asnath, Initiate of Seven, opened the Test of Mentorship. Mentorship is a part of ATITD's tradition of encouraging those pursuing the Discipline of Leadership to guide new players through the first stages of the game. I'll be hosting an in-game chat with some of the top Mentors from previous Tales. They will share their mentoring philosophies with all of Egypt, in order to help those with an interest in this most unique aspect of ATITD. I'd encourage even those new to the game to join us for the chat - mentors often have observations about the game that are quite insightful. This chat will take place:
Saturday, Jan 31, 12:00 Noon EST (GMT-0500) until 1:00 or so.
Finally, this weekend should see the release of at least two more Tests, and a journey to the Spirit Arena for a chance to win Cornerstones: 49 in all, plus other prizes.
