ok i should be applying for my previsional this weekend, oncei get it back, i would really like to drive my mothers VW Sirocco Salaca, 1.8 F reg.

will i be able to get insurance on this? its worth about 500 quid the car itsself, and i tried a online quote but they told me to fone them ¬_¬ anyone know any good online quote people?

also they said they need an experianced driver on the policy aswell?will it be cheaper for me to get my bf(who is a army driving instructor and has been driving for like 7 years) as the policy the holder and me as a named driver?

Id do that, and i would think it would be yr cheapest option. For a learner driver to be insured on a 1.8 engine will cost you a bomb. And you cant really get much better qualifacations at driving than being an instructor so hopefully that will knock a few bob off.

You would be better of asking who ever got your mothers insurance to put you on the same policy as whoever that is must be the named insured to be 1st driver of that car.

Only petrol & there all supercharged. To put it simply , u wont be insured regardless of who u go on for less than £2000 (if that seems a bit steep btw , remember ur age & what car it is

. If insurance wasnt there id be driving a Honda Civic Type R but since they wanrt £8000 per year insurance , thats not possible) id say. Its also better to get ur 1st year out of the way , be ur own policy as next year its 30% off. Going on someones now will look cheaper but bite you in the ass later. Stick to hatchbacks or diesels & just cos the cars cheap doesnt mean the insurance will be , newer the car , less the insurance. Costin me £1700 per year at the mo on a modifided Nissan Almera 1.4 SI

no she is the policy holder, but you cant have two learner drivers on one policy,.
