Any Man Utd supporters out there want to give me your honest opinions on Keiron Richardson, seeing as it looks like Sunderland may be on the verge of signing him.
I've not really seen him play much for Man Utd, but have seen him play for England and from what I saw he didn't look a bad player and I reckon he will walk straight into a first team place at Sunderland. Personally I think he is better than most of our current midfield so a welcome prospect, but although he was clearly not up there with Man Utds top midfielders otherwise SAF wouldn't be letting him go, do you reckon 5 mil is about fair for a him? I reckon it's a bargain with todays silly prices. Of course, I reckon just about every Sunderland fan out there will be praying that he leaves Charlie back in Manchester. Oh and i'm sure SAF and every Man Utd must be happy to see him come to Sunderland, as opposed to going to Man City, right? |

On the continent... £5m would be a gross, gross, gross overvaluation of Richardson. In England, I still think £5m is possibly a bit steep, especially since Utd set Smith's valuation at £4m.
He's... ok, he's not Man Utd player, but he's a well rounded left winger, he can cross, pass, tackle, dribble, but he's no world beater at any of them. I think he'd be good for Sunderland, he's a lower-mid-table-quality player which is perfect for the first season after promotion. Those are the sort of players promoted clubs need to bring in, squad players from higher clubs, they have experience in the league and in some cases will be willing to come... Ghaly, Murphy, Routledge, Richardson, Le Tallec, Flamini, Bendtner, Djourou, Diarra, Wes Brown, Fletcher, Ji-Sung... Those are the sorts of players i'd be looking at (especially with the sway that being Roy Keane brings..), either for loan or permanent signings. With all the money that promoted clubs got this season mass-signings are feasible. Ghaly, Le Tallec, Flamini and Ji-Sung would probably be available cheap, with some of the younger ones being more likely to be loan signings. |

remember how well he did at west brom when he was on loan there? he is a good player, i just dont think hes quite consistent enough for utd. no idea on whether 5 mill is a good price for him as i just cant keep up with valuations and prices at the moment, its getting silly! (well, it got there a long time ago but hey...)

He isn't a left winger, he can play on both sides and in the middle. He has a pretty good long range shot on him, and decent control and skill.
Obviously playing with Ronaldo and Scholes will have taught him a lot about how to get through a defence and how to wrong-foot opponents. He isn't all that fast but he will probably be one of Sunderland's best players this season if he does sign. Expensive though. |
