if theres one team i hate more than man utd its newcastle, shearer and robson r so big headed, when robson brought woodgate i remember him saying "we have the money, we have the power" lmao @ that, wheres all this power and money atm?? 7th in the league tut tut

serves them right, i havent seen them play a good game all season, when i watched leeds v newcastle 1st game of the season leeds out played newcastle in every position, it was only due to a penalty that u got nething out of the game

i cant see newcastle makin the champ league this year, and if they dont i can see a few players leavin in the summer due to financial problems, cos these supposedly "big" clubs r building there teams on the basis they will get into the champ league year in year out, they missed out this year in the qualifiers so if they did miss out again i can see them goin the same way as leeds just not as bad

if u read the whole of my opinion then u would see that i expect them to go the same way as leeds if they dont make the champ league for a 2nd successive season.

also shearer only has a few years left in him, who r they gonna get to replace him with no money if they dont make the champ league? we all know how important he is to them and with no money to replace him, i can c the newcastle future bein very bleak

I have to disagree.

They've spent their money very wisely, in small doses and on players that have masses of potential. Whereas Leeds did not. Leeds went out buying players like Huckerby, Duberry, Hasselbaink and offloaded the ones they bought for a cheaper price. Newcastle aren't doing that, they're bringing in players for the future that can increase in potential - Viana, Robert (fairly young), Woodgate, Bramble (haha - useless but still), Dyer, etc.

The list goes on an on.

They probably have the best youth going at the moment. So I expect them to get a fair bit better in the years to come.

Also, as for missing out on the Champs League affecting their finances. It just means they probably won't splash out, like this year. They don't go overboard on their players wages like Leeds did. They don't take out leases on players, like Leeds did. They don't pay their directors millions and millions when they've already spent money they don't have, like Leeds did.

They won't go the same way Leeds did, not at all.

Ameobi and Lua Lua look pretty good. Not to mention they already have Bellamy, and Chopra who was pretty good in Division 1 last year.

All of which are young, and will develop to get even better before Shearer leaves.

we had a great youth system, we brought through woodgate, kewell, robinson, smith and we wernt buying them sorta players at all lol, that was years before any of this money business come about the players we brought were also youthful and will go on to be international class if not world class, players like rio ferdinand.....lee bowyer......mark viduka (when he tries is an amazing player, u just have to watch the 4-3 against liverpool o see that)

where we went wrong was buying to much youth imo the only players we used to have 30 was batty and matteo, and it was so much the transfer fee's we were paying either because we made a huge profit on rio, it was the wages we were paying them and are still paying.....robbie fowler i heard he was on 50k a week and viduka is on 65k a week we had 6 strikers that could walk into most premiership clubs and paid them all ridiculous wages, if ne1 done that it would cripple them financially, ridsdale tried to get to big to quick and leeds are still paying for that.

newcastle do rely on shearer alot imo, and ur honestly tellin me that lua lua and chopra can do the same job he does week in week out lol come on m8 there not even fit to walk in shearers shadow let alone play like him on the pitch shearer is a legend, this is comin from a die hard leeds fan aswell, u must know the record he holds against leeds.....scoring at least one a game against leeds lol, he's scored the most goals against leeds than any other club so for me to be sayin this is hard but its true

Newcastle do have a good squad and it is way too early to say they won't finish in a champions league spot. They should be doing better than they are though that's for sure, as should Liverpool. I predict both managers of each club will go within the next 3 seasons for sure. Liverpool have gone backwards over the years in terms of success and Newcastle have a good squad but aint doing anything special.

You never know. By the time Shearer's out of the picture Chopra/Lua Lua/Ameobi may have developed into someone who can do the job. Maybe not as effectively, but you don't replace a legend overnight. They won't replace Shearer, just as Arsenal or Man Utd couldn't replace Henry or van Nistelrooy overnight. But by the time Shearer's gone Chopra/Lua Lua/Ameobi will have come on heaps and bounds.

He's the premierships record scorer, he's not going to be replaced overnight.

in reference to the 2nd post, Robson has a right to be big headed, hes 1 of the greatest managers to ever grace the game.

saying that, i dont think he comes across as big headed at all, Shearer maybe, but then again hes had an excellent career as well.

i like the way Robson dribbles when he talks about the matches can tell the guy lives the game, hes quality

Like any other team we are simply experiencing our bad patch......if u think back to last year we had a terrible start and looked where we finished.....we havnt even started yet and as for leeds ....every time i think of them i laugh.....i dont even know wheres yous are in the league cus i tend not to look that far down cus we are in the TOP half of the league.......playing rubbish and still in 7th...not bad if u ask me and just think when we are playing well again we'll get 4th easy !!!

If i was alan smith i'd leave leeds before they cant afford him and start auctioning him off at their own will !!! hes the only good player they have and hes wasting his time there !!

we will see who is wasteing there time, by the sound of it u dont know alot about leeds so y comment if u dont know a thing about them?

i hope they get money cus i 'had' always liked leeds and thought they 'had' some good players but its present leeds i dislike and is calling boby and shearer big headed a bit wrong...they aint big headed....so i wasnt 'running my mouth' i was simply stateing an opinion which was obviously gonna be different than the opinion u shared cus u support leeds so its natural u will stick up for them (unlike united fans who only stick up for them when they win)...my opinion is simply is atm leeds suck but i hope they do get bought over by someone who will run the clucb better and if ya ask me bring back david o'leary...didnt he get sacked cus he didnt want to sell rio??? if so that was a bit dumb of leeds dont u think??
