It's jealousy/envy.

On a side note, I hate Arsenal because they're a very arrogant team . Oh, and Leeds, because almost everyone I know supports them, and they're complete ****s when it comes to football. They speak so much bull **** it hurts. Nice to see we beat them twice in a week then.

Lol i'm not envious of man u. The fact is they play the same tactics every match and their football isn't exciting to watch.

And as for supporting local clubs how many of those who support Man Utd live within 20 mile radius of Manchester... least i can see my teams stadium and travel there is 10 mins.

I don't think that really matters.

In fact, if anything, me living further away and still going to watch them play shows I'm a 'true' supporter.

what hs living near a team got to do with anythin? if u support a succesful team u r a glory supporter in most ppls eyes. I was brought up supporting Man U so when i got i older i jsut stuck with em.

lol, thats jealousy/envy, the only team thats rivaled u and taken most of the trophys from u over recent seasons and u hate them, funny that?

i mainly hated Man U because of Beckham, now hes left ur not so bad. still boring to watch, but so are most teams.

It's about tradition too.

It's also about supporting your local community as your local team brings in local jobs, local morale when they do well, etc.

Not forgetting... How many people at the opposite end of the country form the club they support actually go to the games week in week out? Most Man Utd supporters are just glory hunters who have never been to a game i their life and probably wouldn't even be able to name most of the lesser known players. good example of this is a female friend of mine who lives literally right next door to Charltons ground, yet she supports Southampton because she thinks Beattie is cute and Man Utd (now Real Madrid) cause of Beckham. A team that is doing well and is in the spotlgith with various star players, is always going to get a lot of youngsters supporting them no matter where they are. Just look what Jordon did for Basketball...

Saying that, it's also just the way it's always been, you have a local club, you support them.

No prawn sandwiches in my lunch box.

I hate Man Utd with a passion, but I still want them to win when it comes to playing foreign opposition as it's a national thing then. i don't care who wins the Premiership so long as it's not the same team evry season as that gets boring.

No.

It has nothing to do with that. At all.

I enjoy watching Chelsea. I enjoy watching Real Madrid. I enjoy watching any top european team, even Bayern Munich. Any rival from across Europe, I enjoy watching. I have no hatred for any other team. I enjoy watching Chelsea, knowing full well they'll be taking trophies from us soon enough. Whether it's sooner or later. I don't hate Liverpool, I don't enjoy watching them because they're terrible creatively, and Heskey does my ****ing nut in.

Arsenal are a whole different ball game.

Wenger is a comple ******. He is such a hypocrit that I hate he enfuriates me more than anyone else on this planet. He accuses Ruud of ruining the game through diving, and such things. What about Pires' shameful diving at Valencia last year? Guess what, he didn't see it. He labelled Ruud a disgrace for 'trying' to get Vieira sent off... yet he claimed he didn't see anybody bully Ruud. His double standards are terrible.

He accused Ajax of laying back and trying to 'kill' a game because they weren't playing attacking football all the time. Neither do Arsenal. He's a complete ****. Does my tits in.

I also can't stand Lehmann, Cole, Keown, Wiltord, Bergkamp, Pires, Lauren and a few others all for different reasons. But don't say it's just 'coz they're our rivals. I'm not as shallow as that.

I don't know why I bother arguing with you Radon when it comes to United, you're never going to budge. Not that I really care. I know it's not for shallow reasons, I can back up pretty much everything.

Arsenal are arrogant in their play, their management and pretty much every way they go about things. They do my tits in. No other team does that.
