Do 2 things, either insure the car in your dads name with you as a named driver as long as your mum, your auntie uncle etc etc. The more people as a named driver the cheaper it often is for some reason.
Or leave your van in your garage for 1 or 2 years driving and drive a piece of **** until u have some ncb and are paying cheap insurance. And do pass plus that knocks off about 40% off ur insurance bill! |

Elephant.co.uk are really good for insurance. They're almost twice as cheap as any other insurer, my mum, dad and Kurt all use elephant.
The fact its so high is because its your first car, its got a big engine.. transits 2L ? If you're a mechanic why not try get your hands on something smaller like a saxo or a 206 or a corsa or something. <=1.4L costs MUCH less on insurance, and even if you're paying a little more for the car you'll make it back on the insurance. |
