What you guys think of the League Cup? After seing many premiership sides not take it seriously and put out weak sides and many managers saying they wouldnt mind being knocked out do you think its one competition too many? Maybe Premiership clubs shouldnt be involed and it should be Nationwide divisions but isnt that what the LDV vans trophey is for. It just seems pointless that teams like Man utd and Arsenal put out weak sices get to final then put a full squad out. I know its good for lower teams to face bigger teams but isnt that what the FA cup is for.

I think its not good for big clubs who have european commitments, maybe if it started after christmas when champ league first rounds have taken place so it gives teams (cough arsenal) to get kicked out of champ leagues.
But big clubs dont take it seriously, no incentive for big clubs. |

Sunderland v Swansea - You just know you'd probably beat us, we are crappy in the cups. As for the main topic.... I think the Milk/Worthington/Carling whatever else it's been known as cup is starting to have a lot more importance for clubs than it used to. For a lot of clubs it is the only chance they really have of getting into Europe, but at the same time it's also a piece of silverware, which a lot of clubs have not had the pleasure of seeing for a long time. Liverpool go all out every year for that cup and it has been their route to europe more than once. Man utd and Arsenal are the 2 main teams that still don't take it serious enough though, but you can't really blame them so long as they know they are strong enough to get in to the champions league season after season via their league position. |

why would u want less cups and less excitement?
would u prefer purely league games all season? cups are must-win things, and they give teams from different divisions a chance to meet i could play football every day, if guys who are paid tens of thousands of quid per game arent fit enuff, then sack them dammit |
