Sport, Hobbies and InterestsIf you are an avid follower of football or F1, like bird watching or keeping tropical fish, love reading books or writing, photography, cars or classic bikes, model airplanes or anything like that, then this is the section you need.
If you entered the fantasy football league in a previous seasons you should still be able to use the same account and ressurect the same team as last time for the new season, only needing to pick new players and rejoining the league. If this is your first time you will need to register an account.
The system is pretty simple and pretty much the same as always. You have 100mill to spend on 15 Players(2 'Keepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 strikers).
Ok! So once you have your 15 players your team is set to a standard 4-4-2 formation to change this follow the following steps:
Click on the little yellow arrow button of the player you want to put on the bench.
Click on the green arrow of the player from the bench you want to put in your 11, whether it be a player of the same type(ie defender) or a player you want to put in from a different position. Fiddle around with this until you get the formation you are happy with, note you can only have one goal keeper
You have unliminated free transfers to fine tune your team until just before the Preier League kicks off in a few weeks time, so if a player gets transfered to another club, you don't have to worry about being stuck with them.
note: Your Captain is automatically your goal keeper so he cannot be changed from a player on the bench. To change captain, scroll down and there will be a drop down menu, pick a new player to be captain and you will now be able to change your goalie.
The total format *\o/* league is set up and the code needed to join it is:
42916-13429
You join by clicking on the league button on the righthand side of your screen and enter that code
Good Luck all
It would be much more fun if everybody joined in this, footy fan or not. Last season we only had 30 players, i'd really like to get a lot more this season.
Sign Up, even if you hate football, it'll make it more fun for all!!!
Don't forget you can change your team as many times as you like between now and the start if the season without losing points, so there is no reason at all not to join straight away.
ADDITION
You can also join the Total Format Predictions league as part of this, wihtout needing to sign up for a new account, where each week we can predict the scores for the Premier League...

Any chance of anyone who understands this talking about whats going on, whos scoring, how to play it a bit etc?
I just picked like 8 names i recognised and then filled the rest with randoms, but i wouldnt mind having a play around if i can get to grips with it at all. Or at least know whats going on from the fantasy perspective of football.
Could probably make it fun for those of us who just signed up to help if you had a discussion thread or posted whats going on
Well let's see. This is my third season, and I can't claim to be an expert, but here are some things to consider. For me, there is both logic and non-logical reasoning. There are players I like to have just because I like the way they play (Pantsil, A Ferdinand), and players who rack up the points (Fabergas), and players from newly promoted teams (Burnley).
First, your players have to play in their matches to get points, so try to select players that get a lot of playing time. Second, you need most players from teams that tend to win, as there are both team and individual points to be earned. Last, don't have more than one defender from the same team, cuz if they lose big, they'll all lose points.
Each week, you want to examine who each player faces as an opponent. For example, I benched Burnley's Blake against ManU and Everton - good call eh? Also, try to avoid situations where your team members face each other - although you can't avoid them all. And be sure to select a captain that is playing against a weaker team, as his game points are doubled.
Here is my team:
Active:
1: Howard
2: Evra
3: Assou-Ekotto
4: Pantsil
5: A Ferdinand
6: Fabregas
7: Kuyt (C)
8: Dempsey
9: Park
10: Van Persie
11: Saha
Bench:
12: Friedel
13: Sagna
14: Elliott
15: Blake
First, I went for Howard, Friedel, and Dempsey as Americans. Then Fabergas, Sagna, and vanPersie from Arsenal. Evra, Kuyt, and Park fill out the top-flight players. I took two from Burnley as I have adopted them as my favorite underdog. I've always liked Rio's little brother. I wanted Paul Young, but he didn't quite fit.
After about 6 weeks, I'll look at who is doing well, and who is not, and then probably switch out ~4 players using the free transfer WildCard. I'm looking to add Altidore (American) and Senderos when he lands on another team. After that, I'll stick with my team for the rest of the season, except for major injuries.
Wow, i'm having a really bad year so far. Might help having a computer and actually being able to log in and change my team around a bit mind, which i've not been able to do for the last couple of weeks.
Few more things that i tend to try and keep in mind.
For defenders, its not bad keeping in mind wich ones head forward to put in some headers on corners etc.
Also better a crap defender from a team that keeps a 0 then a good defender from a team that gets 1 in every game ;P
For midfielders, sometimes theres some blokes classed as midfield in the game but actually play forward, they have a better change of scoring obviously so...
Other then that pretty much what Laz said
And it always helps to have a healthy dose of luck!
