After having a bit of a cricket binge with Eng Nz & the IPL i think the IPL is clearly the future of cricket.

Just watched the RR vs MI and although Eng was a classic game it just cant compare with the excitement. As the commentator said during the match the only winner is cricket.

I think the ecb needs to get a move on and bring cricket into the 21st century. There are too many formats its far too much cricket. The four day format needs to go at a minimum.

Its about time cricket went comercial and stopped teams being so relient on the ECB's hand out.

I agree that Cricket needs to seriously go commercial, if it doesn't and soon, all Englands top players will be plying their trade in India.

About the only cricket I can currently sit and watch from start to finish now is 20-20 and the Ashes, I find a lot of the 5 day test match stuff pretty slow and dull these days, although I used to watch it all the time, i guess with me it's just having less free time and not being able to spend days at a time sitting watching it.

20-20 is the way to go. I've never been much of a fan of cricket especially the tests apart from the ashes which i always like to watch for some reason.

Been to a fair few 20-20 matches and really enjoyed every one, usually cos i end up drunk, but its a great few hours out great atmosphere, even better when the sun is kicking. One of the most relaxing times you can have imo. Mind you the game then takes second place anyway its more about the day and the atmos than anything else. If 20-20 cricket can bring in philistines like me then its good.

Hopefully though we would never get the football yobbish crowds though.

i do quite enjoy 20/20 especially the few ipl games i have seen but i think that test matches should still be the main form of the game. id rather watch a test match any day but i realise a lot of others qouldnt so 20/20 does need to be there. i tihnk it kinda takes away the tactics and bowling aspects out of the game seen as teams are just slogging the ball

I still like test matches and think they should remain, but the 4 day county format is just a waste. Thats the only format of the game i think needs to be gotten rid of with a solid money spinning T20.

Tactics still exist in T20 as shown by warne a few times and mumbi saving fernando to close.

I just want to see county cricket grow.

Have to admit i didn't like T20 at first but after watching so much of the IPL i'm loving it.
