I never thought i'd hear myself say it, but i'm chuffed to bits that Man Utd won, ok so mainly because it meant Chelsea didn't, but hey...
Thought Man Utd were beat when Ronaldo missed his penalty, I dunno why but I had a feeling that if it went to penalties and he took one that he would miss. |

It made me feel sick with tedium. After Cristiano's goal it was all Chelski and the second half was the most boring piece of nonsense. It was sort of exciting near the end when they all got their handbags out and started windmilling them like the overpaid nancy boys that they are, I was hoping Ca$hley might break a nail or something.
I honestly don't know how anyone can support Man Ure, where is the fun in supporting the team with by far the most money, for the last 40 years solid? I suppose if you feel a little bit inadequate in your dirty little life, then supporting Manure or Tiger Woods or Schumacher is the only way to experience self-esteem by proxy. Poor old Uncle Fester will probably get the sack now too while BaronFerg gets to lurk around for yet another year making a £2000 suit look like a shiny elephant-skin concertina worn by a bobble-head radish. Hopefully the inadequate fans will choke on their prawn sandwiches on the flights back to the home counties. See how I refrained from the whole Munich 'joke' there. ![]() |

I think its a bit harsh if they sack chelsea's manager after all theres nothing wrong with getting your team to the final of the champions league. I would say well done to him. I really feel for their captain too, he seemed to age 10 years after that slip. I thought that was it at that point, nobody expected him to miss the goal.
You know tef I remember been on the blunt end of a chelsea supporter's rantings before. I ended up been cornered by a 6 feet guy and screamed at for 10mins about how much he hated me for been a man u fan, I thought he was gonna get violent and it scared the life out of me. Wouldn't it make the game soooo pointless if we all supported the same team? Why do people need to get insultive to people that support a different team to them? |

Sad really, but in my lifetime, i've only been old enough to know Sunderland get to one FA Cup final, which was the 1991-1992 final which we lost 2-0 to Liverpool, before that I have to go back to 1985 to the Milk Cup Final which we lost to Norwich 1-0 and then before that 1973 which is well and trully before my consious can remember to the one cup victory in my lifetime which was the shock 1-0 win of Leeds.
It must be amazing as a fan of one of the clubs that regularly win trophies to be part of that atmosphere. Just looking at the atmosphere in the Man Utd section of the crowd last night was amazing, supporters swapping their tops with Russian soldiers and the likes. I really hope in my lifetime that I get to enjoy something like what happened last night. I mean christ, it'd be nice just to see Sunderland play against European opposition and not just as a friendly. I just hope with the new era dawning at Sunderland, we can in the next few seasons become part of this and that we can have our own stuff like this to celebrate. In the meantime, due to the Roy Keane connection, I guess virtually every Sunderland fan out there now has a much softer spot for Man Utd than we all previously had, but especially against Chelsea, same with our Ireland connections, I now find myself paying much more interest in how the Ireland team does. Sir Alex is a living legend, I don't think many none Man Utd people appreciate what he's actually achieved over the years and looking at Chelski, a bottomless piggy bank doesn't buy you success, the manager also has to do his part. |
