![]() sure most of us have seen the pictures now, what do you guys think of this challenge? Personally i dont think there was intent there to do that to his leg. His stud were showing but he didnt come sliding in from miles away. Hope eduardo recovers from this because he is a class player but he is definatly out for a while Thought wengers calls for the player to be band were over the top but were later retracted but i think he only did that because he relalised what people would think |

Firstly, i've edited the title, just to give pre-warning to anyone with a sensitive stomach.
I didn't think it was a bad tackle to be honest, certainly not done with intent. i think it was just a late challange that went horribly wrong. Fortunately it looks like Eduardo will only be out for around 9 months, far less than it was initially feared. I honestly think Taylor will probably suffer quite a bit himself after a challange like that though, he looked seriously distraught after and that's got to effect his game. |

It was one of them 1 in 10 tackles really, and Eduardo was just unlucky that his studs stuck in the ground. Before that red card though, Martin Taylor had only recieved 4 bookings in his career, which would pretty much clear him of being a dirty player. It was just a bit of bad luck, nothing more.

I can say, the nurse who bed-bathed him on S2 Selly Oak Trauma admissions ward, said it was the finest working day of her life
. PS He had his boots stolen in casualty, and a lucky porter asked for, and was given his shirt ![]() and here's the xray: Last edited by Phasor; 01-03-2008 at 04:43. |

Has anyone heard whether he was using normal studs or whether he was using those new blade studs that a lot of clubs seem to be banning the use of? It's hard to tell looking at the pictures i've seen.
From reading various footballing stories, those blade studs are causing feet to stick a lot more than normal studs and are a cause of all kinds of training and match accidents and injuries. Just curious to know whether that may have had anything to do with this or not seeing what XBuster has said? |
