FA Cup day, a nice day off the shite for those of us who support teams in the middle of relegation battles...
Here's a list of the fixtures... Can you see any shocks on the cards? Do you think your club should be concentrating more on the league and fogetting about the cup? Chasetown v Cardiff City Walsall v Millwall Wolverhampton Wanderers v Cambridge United Preston North End v Scun.thorpe United Colchester United v Peterborough United Bolton Wanderers v Sheffield United Blackburn Rovers v Coventry City Brighton & Hove Albion v Mansfield Town Charlton Athletic v West Bromwich Albion Watford v Crystal Palace Plymouth Argyle v Hull City Tranmere Rovers v Hereford United Tottenham Hotspur v Reading Bristol City v Middlesbrough Huddersfield Town v Birmingham City Swansea City v Havant & Waterlooville Sunderland AFC v Wigan Athletic Southend United v Dagenham & Redbridge Everton v Oldham Athletic Southampton v Leicester City West Ham United v Manchester City Ipswich Town v Portsmouth Barnsley v Blackpool Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers Swindon Town v Barnet Norwich City v Bury Aston Villa v Manchester United Burnley v Arsenal Fulham v Bristol Rovers Derby County v Sheffield Wednesday Luton Town v Liverpool Stoke City v Newcastle United Personally I think my club Sunderland can take Wigan today and I hope we do too, for confidence sake, as Wigan are a club in and around us and the pychological victory could be very important come the end of the season. I would much prefer to concentrate on the league overall, but a cup run can breed confidence, IU just don't know if the size our team would be up to the pressure of the extra games. I can see a few shocks on the cards today, I reckon Bristol City and Stoke will fancy their chances against their premiership opponents for a start, although in the case of Newcastle, Newcastle are probably the underdogs going into that one. The Swansea one could be interesting, i'm sure Swansea would prefer to concentrate on their good league run, to consolidate there position at the top in the hope of getting out of League 1 right now, than potential injury to their players in the cup, i'm sure if Forge was around he'd probably put me right on that one though. Anyway, good luck to whoever you support and hope you get the result you want for your team, unless it's Wigan where the only decent result is a good victory for Sunderland. |

Bah, sometimes I really hate footy. I think Sunderland fans should be awarded for our ability to take so much crap.
![]() Sunderland 0 Wigan 3 Oh well, that's it for another year. Can't really say more than that. Not even many shocks today either. ![]() Last edited by Detomah; 05-01-2008 at 17:53. |
