BBC news has posted this shocker.....
---------- Lewis Hamilton could face punishment after using two sets of wet-weather tyres during Friday's first practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Drivers are only allowed to use one set of tyres during a session and McLaren have admitted to making the mistake. Stewards are to discuss the situation on Friday though no decision could be known until Saturday. The FIA have no set punishment for the offence. Hamilton was fastest in the second session ahead of Fernando Alonso. Honda's Jenson Button and Super Aguri's Takuma Sato also face a penalty for the same tyre infringement. The FIA will have separate meetings with the three drivers and a representative from each of the teams in Sao Paolo. Hamilton leads his team-mate and double world champion Alonso by four points in the race for the drivers' championship, which will be decided on Sunday, with Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen a further three points behind. ------------ What was that you say... A FIX! no, not in F1. If any points are knocked off (ANYONE) it will be the cherry on the cake! ![]() |

******* ********
I would say that about sums up my feelings towards F1 and the way Hamilton has been treat this season. I personally reckon this latest stunt could have been an inside job though, someone on his team wanting Alonso to win by any means. Probably some large bet been placed at the start of the season for Alonso to win it and cash swapping hands in large amounts to ensure it happens. |

In the long term, he'll earn a hell of a lot more money if he wins the next GP and the championship, itll probably work out a hell of a lot better for him to take a small fine than to not win the season.
I actually think hes had an amazing season, media will represent him as our hero because hes a brit, but ultimately hes had a lot better luck than other drivers this season. Alonso has had far far worse treatment by Mclaren, but afterall hamilton is the favourite of the team boss, so its to be expected. As much as having a brit champion is amazing, hes had a lot of support through his career so far and to start as a rookie in the best car of the season is an amazing break for him and his career. Others such as Koveilinen (sp?) havent had half the fortune of him. Thats not to say hes not a great driver in the making, but everytime hes hit the **** hes come out smelling of roses. Hes lucky that Raikkonen has had car failures and problems like ending up at the back of the pack. When you watch how well he drove in the rain its something id be suprised if lewis could do yet. Great car, great driver, but i dont think hes the best in this series, just lucky the 1 or 2 better drivers havent had the setup to beat him. Im sure somethings going to go wrong on sunday for him. Things come in threes and england football failing to qualify, rugby losing the final and hamilton losing the championship is my prediction, though id be pleasantly be prooved wrong as id like to see him win. |

I love fast cars and fast driving more than just about anything. But F1 doesn't interest me in the slightest. It is all about the car and there is virtually no overtaking unless a decent car gets a grid penalty.
I think the rally drivers are more skilled and even Touring Cars is more exciting to watch, despite never really going over 130. F1 isn't as exciting as it thinks it is and if Hamilton wasn't a half-caste then it wouldn't even be getting this amount of coverage (outside England and Spain). Nevertheless those McLarens are completely off the scale, something like 800bhp out of a 2.4 non-turbo, you have to love that. Now all they need to do is make the engines last more than 2 hours. |
