Square Enix: No PS3 Games Till April 08

According to German gaming site Gamefront, the Japanese publication Nihon Keizai Shimbun is reporting that Square Enix will not release any games for the PlayStation 3 until the start of the new fiscal year, April 1, 2008. In other words, keep waiting for Final Fantasy XIII. This is backed-up by an earlier statement from the company's president Yoichi Wada that FFXIII would not be released this fiscal year. Assuming the game hits Japan shortly thereafter, factor in translation, localization, and the hiring of bad voice actors, and we could be facing a North American and European launch in 2009 ... or later (cue spooky noises).

Was anyone actually expecting it this year?

Thinking about it their is probebly no Crystal Chronicles for Wii this year and all those many many 360 games they are making wont come till next year either.

Looks like its just the 14 DS games for 07 :p

I think you would've had to be stupid or just naïve to expect FF13 this year.
Good news is that it gives me more months for Sony to rethink their pricing and hopefully have taken it down a decent amount by the time it comes out as FF13 is one of the reasons I want a PS3.

Like Wedgy said the only confirmed FF for 360 is Wings of the Goddess which is a patch for XI.

It would be the end of the console war. Especially with titles like MGS4 looking to be full on exclusive as well.

They need to get off their asses and revive the Chrono series.

That game could define this generation let alone end the war.

FF6 full rendered 3d remake would > FF7, but not all the fanboy fags will agree =P and how long do you really think MGS4 will stay exclusive?

And I'm with Wedgy, bring back Chrono Trigger/Cross in 3d or a brand new game.
