Namely, two free new maps and a video which can be downloaded via the Xbox Live Marketplace this Wednesday -- which is also being sponsored by the Discovery Channel. Rein also told us that there will be a GoW update rolled out ahead of the new content. Hopefully it'll address some of the glitches that players have been complaining about.

Details about the new maps:

* Raven Down: "A Raven Helicopter has gone down in the middle of a large scale battle with the omnipresent Locust Horde. Gears have taken out the Seeder and gamers join Delta Forces moving into the crash site from all angles to search for survivors."
* Old Bones: "In an attempt to eradicate any traces of human history and culture, the Locust Horde has emerged under Sera's Capitaline Museums and has begun to destroy them brick by brick. Each gamer's mission is to help the Delta Force recapture the museums before all remnants of humankind's existence are obliterated."

Not bad for some free content, especially considering the fact that we've just about run our GoW maps into the ground. It'll be nice to see some fresh locations, and hopefully one day they can drop in some new game types as well.

Hell yeah good because I know most of the maps off by heart now and this is gonna be a fun new challange, I hope the main bugs are being fixed though and not just small ones.

eg. the weapon change glitch, the shooting through wall glitch and the poncy grenade tag glitch also add to the list the chainsaw glitch which I have never encountered but have heard about.

Good work though Epic, i'm mostly looking foward to the news maps.

But! for the achievement 'Around the World' which consists of completing all maps and winning in ranked mode do people have to complete the new maps now to get this achievement? i'd be interested to know if anyone has any information.

They made one of the updates today, Gears suddenly stopped connecting to alot of servers and then I restarted the game and an auto update occured.
Only noticable changes atm I can see if the font downsizing and menu scaling down and the camera has been zoomed out and fixed for roadie running so you can see where you are running now, pretty decent.

Someone on a server said that they had made it so you can't headshot moving targets with the sniper but I sniped lots of people moving just fine so I just think that was because he couldn't hit moving sniper targets.

i like the old bones one, the raven down is a bit **** i think........

I haven't tried Old Bones yet but I agree Raven Down is crap!
Everyone starts like almost next to each other so in the end all it ends up being is just a battle of shotguns and all the close quarters combat is crap and this map is a noobs paradise, they can shotgun and grenade tag as much as they like.

It was funny cause he actually put 'from shadowman dave' like you didn't know who it was from lol!

It had me in stitches; every time we killed him because he always shouted at the end of the round and it was really hurting my ears but he must've been peed off when all four of us tagged him with smoke grenades lolol

So funny.
