PS3 backwards compatibility sucks.

Music is all out of place in most PS1 games, and graphical glitches in Devil May Cry etc, some other stuff on IGN apparently ;o

I dunno about ps1 games, but its only suppost to be 200 out of 8000 PS2 games that dont work.
This isnt bad at all percentage wise.

Its the whole cant display anything but 1080p or 480p that suck at the moment, you pack in a bluray player you expect the HD to be tested.

Sony have said this will be fixed in the first update and i imagins backwards compatibility will be fix at somepoint.

I expect many updates will have happened by europe launch, so we should get a pritty stable system which is our only benifit.

In this age of making things smaller and having more space alot of people wont want to do that. Besides, PS2s have a tendancy to break after time.

comon guys its only 2% of all games in the playstation library that are affected, and they said they will try get it fixed with a patch soon.

I don't know about you guys but when I buy a new console I tend only to use it for the games for that console and because it always takes a while to kick off that is why I don't buy them at release.
I will be buying a PS3 for PS3 games and if you are that worried about backwards compatibility then don't buy one simple as but you will probably hardly touch PS2 games after PS3 hits peak and you are all forgetting that XBOX 360 only had 200 titles for backwards compatibility but updates through live are making them numbers grow all the time.
Its funny how people dissed the 360 in early development and now its happening to PS3 but with this one they are saying 360 will dominate and clearly ignoring the fact that the 360 has been on the market for over a year. People expect far too much on launch day and it usually brings disappointment because they buy the faulty ones before they have a chance to be sorted, nothing is fault free.

My PS2 is one from the first few batches of release and doesn't even load half my PS1 games, that is why I want PS3 backwards compatibility to work heh.
