to be honest.... theres a new hack in development for 2.80 native homebrew. i cant remember the details, but it is in development. i would wait for that hack to be 99% effective upgrade to 2.8 and run homebrew from there!
. Minus found a way to run 2.71 fw+ on a 1.50 firmware PSP. so if you *do* downgrade you can use devhook to emulate upto 2.71, and anything above. i *think* the website is http://psp.dcemu.org although i cant swear to it. i know its a dcemu page though. or psphacking101.com will be able to help you out as they have video's. if you remember to double check the forums, and check to make sure ur doing as the instructions say there is little chance of it bricking. you also need to make sure it isnt a TA-81 chipset (inside the UMD tray, theres a lable... if it says TA-81 dont bother doing ANY homebrew.. if there isnt one, dont worry about it!! ) |

not always there... if you open up your umd drive and look on the inside, if theres a lable there, you are ****ed for homebrewing unless you get it cihpped... but since the chip has to be ****ing miniture, its pointless trying yourself, unless you are an amazing electrician.
if not, you should be fine ![]() EDIT:- on a side note... if you definatly want for homebrew/iso's and it has a lable, then put it on ebay and get ur money back for it that way... then buy another psp from there. 1.0/1.5/1.51/2.0/2.5/2.6 are all definately fine for homebrew (although 1.51-1.5 is a pain.. you need to upgrade to 2.0, then downgrade to 1.5...) if any of them have a 1 or a 2 at the end (1.51/2.51 etc...) then they need upgrading to the next release, then downgrading, as these .01 changes are just where sony have figured out what the homebrew community has been doing and stopping them. |

the downgrader includes instructions on how to find out if your motherboard is TA-82 or not. You will want the 'I've got 2.71' Full edition. |
