360 1080p Wont Work On Sony TV's?

According to a bunch of very angry people over on the AV Science form, and one Kotaku reader, the 1080p upgrade for the Xbox 360 doesn't appear to work on Sony's XBR2/XBR3 line of televisions. This is a big deal because the folks there claim it's considered to be one of the best 1080p televisions on the market.

News of the issue, which means you can't display a 1080p image on the television at all, has lead some to start wondering if this was a deliberate move on Microsoft's part, being that the television is made by Sony or if someone dropped the ball and a patch is coming for the 360.

Kinda funny if true, shows that these companies are like kids.

Dont see why MS would need to punish Sony TV's though they got nothing to do with PS3 really.
Would hurt MS more then Sony i think not having 1080p working with perhaps the biggest brand of tv's on the market.

well i personally think its just a technical issue as i dont see microsoft doing this on purpose as it would just **** off people who own 360's more then anything else.

but if they did want to hurt sony this could be a sly tactic, say that the 360 cannot give 1080p on sony tv's and maybe they would make some 360 owners go for another brand hurting sony in their tv sales area.
