I don't see the problem, the churches are outdated by their demands, who listens to them anyway, they only want our money at the end of the day, and if we refuse we are dammed to hell... yeah what ever.
About time people accept that it doesn't matter what/who you are, Gay, lesbian, bi or straight has been around long before the bible was written, if your not into it then fine, it's not shoved in your face unless you want it too,

Hes basically said that he wants to keep the classic biblical ideas and theyve picked up on the gay aspect and made an article about it, because that part is controversial imo.
So much for free speech/thought though when people (who are clearly religious ie. delusional) arent allowed to have an opinion on a subject without being "crucified" for it.
Some gay people do throw it in your face as if their sexuality is their personality and they need to convince everyone of it, doesnt make sense to me. Dunno why some people cant just be gay and otherwise the same as the straight/"normal" part of the population. Guess its true of all minority groups.
I'm actually embarrassed for the poor sad bastards that have bothered to go to all the trouble of commiting such absolute drivel to press to be honest.
It amazes me that the date being now within the 21st Century, that it makes absolutely no difference at all regarding how backwards thinking people as a whole are and how little seems to have been learned through the ages...
I have absolutely no derogatory thoughts towards anybodies sexual orientation or sexual activity, providing that when it comes down to doing the deed, they actually practice safe sex in a fashion that doesn't put peoples lives at risk (aka, not knowingly spreading STDs, AIDS and the likes).
Why the fek someone's sexual orientation should have any kind of baring on the legal system and human rights is as pathetic to me, as women and men being treat any different from one another, outdated nonsense. Pathetic supposedly superior thinking human thought processes simply working against developed common sense.
One of my pet dislikes, academics (experts) with a 'holier-than-though' attitude and 'I know-it-all approach to others.
That'll be the difference between forwards thinking and backwards thinking people and considering the human species is supposedly civilised and the most developed living creature on this planet, going back down onto all fours and crawling back into the cave isn't really the way to go, it's certainly not the way I want to go anyway.
Only the narrowminded have issue with the sexual orientation of others any more, sadly there are still a hell of a lot of narrow minded twats in the world though.

I've come across a lot of 'characters' on TF but not encountered any narrow mindedness that can be identified.
Let me see, stroppy, opinionated, pushy, argumentative, caring, likable, intelligent, downright awkward crafty and clever appears to be commonplace on TF. In my book, all good stuff because it 'floats peoples boats'. Right or wrong, that's got to be a progressive attitude and behaviour. : Sorry Detomah if I even inferred you were an acedemic.

Do you ever hear them trying to bring religion to kids who drink on the streets? Help to druggies who steal all the time? People who are "lost" in this world and I thought the whole point of religion was to help these lost people in need and help "fix" the world as much.

lol, I have to say, i've never really looked at it from the "something is broken" point of view. It's illogical and makes no sense to me, hell it's just as likely that it could be down to evolution that people are born homosexual, as natures way of somehow trying to slow down the population boom, as same sex relationships generally don't end in creation of babies.
Like your view on the religious side there though, i'm sure religious debate would have some kind of answer against that, but certainly not me, I agree, it's stupid that they persist in the anti-gay thing.

Nobody needs religion, they only NEED a faith in a greater being than humans. That alone will carry any individual anywhere the wish to go. However, big catch, you've got to play by the simple rules of honesty, fairness and raw courage. No spin or bull - - - - will sustain you. For those who have that good old fashioned pig-headed do-or-die attitude, nothing on this earth will defeat you.
Remember what a great man once said :
"If we don't stand for something, we ultimately die for nothing"
Almost everything else is pure crap except the next generation. If that means anything to anybody, get your butt down to your MP's surgery and kick his / her butt.

Well i dont have faith in a great being that humans, and I like to think im doing pretty well im following my dreams, using courage etc etc.
And I think we should look at the voting lesson that happening in America with bush, that happens to a country when you dont vote...
