BBC NEWS | Politics | MPs back hybrid embryo research
Bit late i know, but what is everyones opinion on this decision? Do you think its ethically wrong or a victory for the world of science? I think its more ethically wrong NOT to try and find a cure for these diseases when this method could actually work, if it doesn't work out then im sure the research is still useful. This research is not harming anyone, embryos are only 14 days old so they are hardly developed in any shape or form! |

Being religious you would expect me to be against it but I'm not. Its not as if they are taking anything that was going to be anything in the first place if you know what I mean. I do believe that for every disease out there, there must be a cure, its just up to very very talented people that can think out of the box to do it.
It makes me wonder that if they found a cure for something like Alzheimer or the rare cancers that the people who where against this type of advancement would say no to the cure? I think not. I have a friend that thinks they have all ready gone beyond what they claim and can make human/animal hybrids. She makes me laugh cos she also thinks we have aliens living on earth with us. You know the type, a conspiracy round every corner. |

Most things that help find cures for disease and illness are good, there are some seriously unethical methods though and some of those should never be legalised. At the same time, while I don't think it's right to breed a new child just to remove bits of it to give to it's sibling, like some kind of living donor, surely they need to advance the types of technologies that they are researching, using the means that are currently available to them, if they are ever to progress past the point where they need the use of other humans and their body parts. |

I agree with you guys, it would be morally wrong to allow religious people to dictate to the rest of us, and in doing so hamper the development of treatments for terrible diseases.
There is a supposed separation of church and state and yet they still allow religious MPs to vote in issues like this. |

I mean if they were all religious no one would have rights other man white Christian men. Equality is not a moral issue with religious people it seems. |
