Leap year, proposals and rings?

Girlfriend and I have been talking and we are going to get married next year - 18months. She's been on the phone to her grandmother who mentioned that we're not even engaged yet. Which brought on this conversation about her proposing to me since it's a leap year, and whether she pays for 'my' engagement ring >.> She also wants an engagement ring =/
Anywho - point was, how many people are going to propose, how many have, how many are going to give a ring, and if you're a bloke would you want an engagement ring from your g/f?

I think that's really sweet, and something you will always remember. Why shouldn't you have an engagement ring, doesn't mean it has to be all blingy if that's not your style, just get something classy. You could always get her a pretty, but cheapish ring as an engagement ring, and just promise that before you get married you will try and get her something more expensive - bigger lol or go for expensive wedding rings, as they are the ones that matter, right?. My engagement ring wasn't the most expensive I've seen but I love it none the less. A solitare and you probably won't go wrong.

i asked my bloke to marry me last year lol over text haha! i think that it doesnt matter what sex you are if you want to ask them why not! whats the worse that could happen? well i supose they could laugh in your face and tell you were too go but i didnt have that problem (thank goodness!) my ring only ost £75 and he decided he wanted one its nothing flashy its just a plain silver ring that cost me £5 but he loves it.

I asked my (now ex hubby) bloke to marry me, this was in 1989. He didn't want a ring tho.
But he did say yes.
