i was just reading an article about LSD. ive always been led to believe by the media and such that its a very dangerous drug, but after some of my own research i discovered that (apparently) it is one of the safest drugs in the world. this one article i read even went as far as saying that there have been more people dieing from choking on peanuts than dieing from LSD...

im actually really surprised by this. i was always led to believe its dangerous, but if what i read is true then that vision has just been shattered completely o.O

whats your view on the stuff?

Only a tiny amount gets you completely off your face, so the chances of actually dying from toxicity are rather slim.
It's not a good idea to drive on acid though, you really could die from that. As your arm seems to pass through the gearstick and the steering wheel becomes 3 times it's normal size it can be difficult to stay concentrated on the 18wheeler coming the other way.

if as many people took lsd as ate peanuts then it might be a fair comparison,
but thats a very stupid comparison, most people have eaten peanuts,
only an extremly small proportion die as a result, however for lsd I cant imagine its the same.

interestingly it was first considered as a psychiatric drug, wich enabled a pateint to deal with problems with the aid of a therapist, however when they tried it they didnt bother with the therapist and it was a drastic failure.

LSD could have serious, longer term implications for somebody who had a history of mental problems and may also be responsible for triggering a mental health problem that had previously gone undetected.

LSD is something I've never tried, but to be honest I wouldn't want to now. I have heard very funny stories of peoples' eyes falling out, their legs falling off, or some other oddity has happened, some have actually been very scared, others just laughed it off. Like any drug I wouldn't advise anyone to use it unless they had people around to care for them, were aware of any possible side effects, and were prepared to accept the consequences, like a messed up head. Stories I once thought where amusing aren't really anymore. Just makes me wonder why they took more?

Didn't they use LSD in the war on troops? to make them perform better or something?

i wouldnt advise anyone to take drugs, ive known old friends in school to take drugs such as lsd and they have suffered mentally for it. i believe everyone is different though and some people it doesnt effect. but really i my oppinion drugs which can cause such side effects are stupid and why bother even trying them? each to their own i supose. i cant really believe that penuts kill more people sounds too weird lol

Sorry to drag up an old thread but this statement just reminded me of a video i seen on TV.

Yes, they did use LSD on troops during the war, both UK and US troops. They also used it as a truth serum in the states as it lowers your inhibitions.
