It appears that Robbie Williams is being lined up to play
the role of Captain Kirk in the forthcoming movie, makers Paramount have also been parading
Heroes actor Zachary Quinto to play the part of Spock,

The new movie is set in the post academy era of the original crew, with the slate wiped
clean with an up to date approach in every detail,

The main focus of director JJ Abrams is to give the new movie universal appeal,
and attract a broader audience rather than just the niche following of die hard
trek fans the old style movies recieved in the past.

I couldn't help but laugh tbh when I heard this. For some reason I can't imagine Robbie Williams being Kirk and even sillier to imagine him singing that "klingon on the starboard bow" song.
