The originals series was okay but ive never bothered with the later ones or any of the spin offs so ive never been a trecky so wasnt really bothered about seeing this but the trailers looked quite good so thought id give it a go and i have to say i thouroughly enjoyed it the plot was good the cast were all good and the pacing was good my only quibble would be that some of the spaceships looked too good, like an airbrushed photoshoped magazine cover even if the enterprise was a new ship but that just might be down to the fact im used to all the grubby falling to pieces ships of star wars and battlestar galactica. All in all id give it a 8/10

If you're talking aboutthe new ST movie then i would disagree a bit, the ships look good, the retro feel was spot on in my opnionm, thought some of the acting was a bit ropey.

I felt that after the movie a new momentum was set up and that maybe, if done right they could kick start the franchise again.

If you allowed yourself to re-write the Trek history and forget a lot about the orginal series aond continuity then you could easily get into it. Im a bit of a treker and though it was thoroughly enjoyable.

I've still not seen the film yet, it's been a priority viewing since it came out... Must make it happen soon...

I really enjoyed it, and I always watch the original series when i was younger, enterprise and voyager a lot.
And i agree with tag if they are going down the "alternate" universe thing then they have free reign to do what they like with no restriction which is awesome!
