Question

is TF set to refresh itself every now and then more so in Arcade coz it's playing havoc with the games that need keyboard it locks the keys and I've to find somewhere on the gamescreen to click to get them working again which they sometimes don't or is it something in my settings although not noticed this on any other forum

Edit when it happens when typing a post the post moves up screen and I lose cursor

The adverts in the top box at the top of the screen are set to refresh at a set period yes, but they shouldn't be interferring with your game play or posting abilities as they are set in a special window, so shouldn't effect the arcade itself. It also only refreshes at the same period on every page too.

Is there any particular banner that is being shown when your suffering from these issues?

Also, is there any particular game your playing when your suffering from these issues.

I did also upgrade the arcade software last night, so I need to cover all possible eventualities.

I've also just played Tetris in the arcade to see if I could replicate the problem and couldn't do so.

What browser are you using?

Do you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer? I know some older versions could possibly issues with some of the bits TF now has in place.

Det I'm going to have to write it all on notepad if I make a mistake and delete whilst it's refreshing I get sent back to the thread I've tried 4 times now to post a reply do you want me to copy and paste on here or do you want me to send it in pm's

LMAO erm Edit got another one for you in the middle of playing DoubleDeuce I got a pop up appear took the game I was in middle of away totally about would I like to install drive cleaner for **** I clicked cancel and it directed me to PCInfotrash or somethig with d/load it here I lost TF completly cancelling it

Yes, ashamedly it was an after thought, but for good reason, in that my concern was to be not having you suffering problems on TF. It was the 1st edit of the 3 I made to the post though.

Send it to me by which ever means is the easiest for you.

It does sound like you are having computer issues though, something that TF has upgraded sounds like it has left your computer not playing nicely with it.

Seeing I was sitting on thread here it is my bestest copy and paste

The forums and arcade refresh every 30secs

not noticed any particular one everytime I look there's a new one sorry

All games that I've played using the arrow keys

I was playing tetris (several times because of this)when it refreshed it either made the screen move in the direction of which arrow I pressed and I had to use mouse to click in centre of game to get them to work again or it locked the arrow keys totally and clicking on the game itself had no effect and I had to start from scratch needless to say I just abandoned it in the end

I'm using IE6 WindowsXP Home Edition SP2

No idea about Java I do know I got a pop up earlier this year on one of the games to update it which as far as I remember I did but don't know where to look to see what I've got

I'd say you need to update Internet Explorer to version 7 to fully benefit and be most compatible, not just TF but most sites.

I'd also say you should update your version of Java as a new version recently came out that fixed a lot of problems happening for people. To update your version of Java to the latest go here: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

I'd also say run your virus killer and any other tools you have for checking these things.

Do you have Ad-Aware and Spybot installed on your machine, for checking against malware and the likes? If not, click on the links and download them and get them installed Lavasoft Ad-Aware + Spybot... And then run them to get rid of any potential nasty malware and the likes.

I get the distinct feeling it's something on your machine not TF, that is causing the issue, but we will get it sorted one way or another.

Have updated now to 7 which I did do last year and uninstalled it because I didn't like the look of it lol
have updated java from link you put
I run adaware every couple of days so no need to do that as it's been done already
will give Tetris a try now b4 I slope off to bed will report back

Hopefully it should run a lot smoother for you. *fingers crossed*

IE7 is a lot smoother running now than it was when it first came out. I took some convincing to upgrade to it to start with.

Ok tried Tetris out a few times had no problems with it apart from not knocking that guy off top spot I dunno why I played it in the first place as I hate Tetris LOL think I either had a blonde moment or was bored.
I still don't like IE 7 though text looks kind of blurry to me well more like smudged don't like lay out either but hey ho that's what you get for being an old 'un ya get set in ya ways and nay stopping ya just dun like change
Thanks for help though Det knowing me I'll more than likely uninstall it tomorrow to see if it was something to do with Java lol
