Hey Det, at one time we discussed having the abilityu to post your hometown under your avatar. It was one of the zillion options for the last forum upgrade. Any chance you'll revisit that?
I've been saying it a lot recently, but during the next phase of forum updates at the beginning of December, i'll implement such a thing then.
I've got a lot to catch up with, unfortunately balancing the books has been priority number one for the last few months, no money equals no TF, so obviously I have to favour working on that area of things as priority over everything else and recently it's show as certain areas have been a tad neglected. It would be great to have myself a full time accountant and marketing type team, but alas it's not possible just yet, maybe in the future.
You do mean country, by saying location, right? With possibly a little flag of the country showing?
Or at the very least just a box where you can put your own location of choice in?
I just had this horrible thought for a moment that you actually meant me having like a drop down of every town/city that any member of TF could come from, which would as you can imagine, be a serious logistical nightmare to achieve.

Just a simple text box similar to "Mood", where I would type in "West Chester PA USA". It would be cool to be able to buy a flag from the store. If it was easy to make it searchable - that would be nice, so we could find neighbors. We have that on phpBB at GuitarNoise.com, and musicians do look each other up to play.
I believe the overall goal is to Simplify, so do whatever is easiest.

I'll have a looky at what they have over on guitarnoise.com and see if that is something possible for here.
Simplify is definately the way to go, but by that we mean simplify for the community not me, lol, so easiest isn't necessarily the best way forwards for me.
