Howdy,

Have you sort of abandoned the main news feed on the site Det? It seems to be very rarely updated with new information. I'm getting fed up of seeing that Hadron Collidor and Richard and Judy

No, it's not been abandoned, certainly not, it has been left for a while though as you already know. This has been while more important things are being taken care of such as marketing, advertising and various bits in the back end, i've only got the one pair of hands, so can only take care of so much and sometimes stuff that doesn't get seen by the community is part of that.

I've mentioned a few times recently, but in a couple of weeks time, updates will be getting done, during that time, certain things will be changed and improved, hopefully the way the news is done will be one of them, as even with a full time team it would be difficult to keep on top of everything with TF, but for TF to be sustainable it needs everything it currently has.

You have to manually update it then? Would have thought it would be automatic.

But fair enough, it's not a big deal, just thought I'd bring it up.

Actually, there is more than one news feed, so it does depend which one your actually talking about...

Just wanted to add though, that despite arsewipes like Merx constantly preaching that it was all automated crap, the news on TF has always been hand picked and manually added by a member of the team. The only news that is automated and has ever been fully automated is the stuff in Bandits news section, which isn't really for humans anyway, that's more for TFs benefit on search engines and with the search bots. The sad thing which this makes me realise, is that years of spending ages adding news items this way seems to have been a complete waste, it may as well have been automated from the start, it would have given me so much more time to do other bits.
