Also I think it was Vista 2008 summat same sort of wording as above click cancel and it starts a d/load both close TF down, had it a few times today checking pms (twice) clicking on a thread (once) Arcade (twice)

I got that about ten minutes ago. I had just clicked on the link to the general music forum and that spydestructor message pops up. Like you, I clicked cancel which then redirected from TF to some Ad.

Det is working on it already. If you could take a note of the advertisement in the top bar when you get the pop up please, that would make it a lot easier for him to sort it out, but he is looking at it. Just click cancel on it and ignore it as it's an pop up for an anti virus thingy.

the moral of this story, never let a popup webpage tell you that your pc is at risk!
never download anything unless it's from a well known source,
tbh the pigeon english in this one kinda shoots itself in the foot.

It's called pidgin English which is something you should know before calling shenanighans like that.

Just use a script blocker on your browser, like No-Script for Firefox. Because then you can always allow things you want but never be bothered by crap like that again.

Just to clarify, yes I am looking into this. Like the previous one though, finding the guilty ad network is always an absolute pain with this particular type of rogue advert. Either me or the ad networks will find it and quash it as quickly as possible though.

Teflon... When you stop scripts, does that mean TFs adverts don't show for you either?

Yes by default, but you can allow websites with one click and it remembers it forever.

I have firefox 3 with adblock plus and have no problems at all.
