Detomah, can you consider getting rid of the need to press 'reply post' just to enable the already visible quick reply box on topics? It is possibly the most pointless feature of vbulletin ever. It's not a default method on all vb boards but tf has it enabled. Personally find it repeatedly annoying when clicking the box to type a reply then realising I'm supposed to go up and click a button on one of the posts just to enable the disabled_for no_apparent_reason quick reply box.

It actually turned on by default as far as i'm aware.

It's really not something I've ever paid much attention to though in honesty, as I don't personally use the quick reply, I always use the proper reply button.

There is a very big reason for it to be required to click before making a quick reply though:

So seeing as hybrid and threaded modes are enabled on TF, it would make it unfair for any user that has the forum set to display in those modes if I was to change the way quick reply works.

Maybe it's just me but it bugs me everytime I reply to anything.

I thought about what you said before I posted about it needing to know which post the reply was to but when you click the main Reply Topic button at the bottom it doesn't have any idea which post you are replying to does it? Therefore why is it enforced on quick reply.

I've no idea how that bit works, it's part of the hardcoded scripting, so I tend to keep well away from it. But seeing as it is vBulletin saying it, I aint gonna argue with them.

I've made a poll about it, so if the results go your way you'll not have to worry about it for too long anyway.

I'm sure you understand though, that if people do use the other modes, I have to take that into account.

100% agreed, its pointless having the quick reply button as it stands at the moment & I do find it very annoying
