SEGA And Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising To Bring Alien Franchise To Next-Gen Systems

Newest License Underscores Key Strategy for SEGA Growth While Reinvigorating Classic Fan Favorite

SEGA® of America Inc., SEGA® Europe Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising today announced a worldwide exclusive agreement to bring game content based on the critically-acclaimed Alien film franchise to next-generation gaming systems. Multiple titles, including a first-person shooter and a role playing game, are currently in pre-production with the first to be released in 2009. Securing the rights to produce Alien titles reinforces SEGA’s strategy of combining premium licensed content with original IP to aggressively expand its global business.

Glad to See SEGA getting some new franchises, they branching out alot lately with games like this and buying the totalwar series.

I find it a shame in a way that Sega are doing so well in the gaming world. In a selfish kind of way, I wish they were still in the console industry, cause i'd love to see a next gen Dreamcast someday, considering in it's time the Dreamcast was well ahead in certain aspects, of all the competition it had at the time.

But yeah, at least they seem to be doing the right thing regards gaming.

Dreamcast failure had alot to do with the fact EA didnt support it at all with their well know titles.

Now SEGA has to strive to become EA inorder to stay in the business.

Thats Irony or something.

You never know SEGA may well enter the console market again, especially if the playstation 3 fails. Would be nice to see SEGA take the reigns of console manufacturing again and show the rest how its done. Infact it would be amazing to have a 4 horse race for the next generation of games consoles. Nintendo and SEGA will always rule the gaming market IMO

Hopefully they will pick up on that marine game that got scrapped that looked SO good.

It'll be a 5 horse race if Sega jumps back in because you can bet eventually EA will go to consoles in attempt to evolve their company and make all their titles exclusive.
