When bullets won't do, it's time to bring in a brawler

Today cdv Software Entertainment USA released part three of its character guide for Escape from Paradise City. In this new section of the guide, we focus on Angel, the close-combat specialist of the game. Favoring fists over firearms, Angel likes to get “up close and personal” to deal damage -- and this is reflected in her variety of melee skills. ANGEL

ANGEL'S TRAITS
Angel is a street fighter who enjoys nothing more than the feel of her iron-like fists cracking bones and bruising flesh. She's trained for so long that her fists (and feet, for that matter) are as deadly as any bullet that Porter can shoot.

Angel's Basic Agent Training gives her Flurry, Stealth, and Knockdown, all pretty basic yet thoroughly useful abilities. Once she gains the Experienced Close Combat Trait, she gets Slice Achilles, which will seriously impede someone's ability to move (not to mention make a mess). Strong-Arm lets her deal more melee damage and Berserk gives her a serious killing state of mind. Comeback and Opportunity give her some serious melee power, as well. Her Wicked Mind ability lets her put serious hurt down on prone targets, while her Assassinate ability gives her a chance to deal a backstab that does 1000% damage (that's one thousand, yes).

Angel isn't all about running up to the enemy and smashing them to bits, though; she can use Erratic Movement or Elusive to more easily dodge enemy attacks. She can also hide using Master of Shadows, which lets her move quickly and makes her very hard to spot.

Her combat and hiding skills are augmented by her Connections, Pharmacy, Master of Assassins, and Aura of Menace abilities. She has several abilities that will reduce the damage that enemies can do to her and her supporters, allowing her to deal up-close damage while shrugging off bullet hits from a distance.

ANGEL'S ARSENAL
Sure, she's a brawler at heart - but Angel likes weapons just as much as anyone else. Her fisticuffs gives her a wide range of weapons that she can employ; when she starts out, she has a set of Cheap Brass Knuckles. They're cheap, but still capable of ruining someone's day. She can also use a Nightstick or a set of regular Brass Knuckles, or even a Baseball Bat or Weighted Baseball Bat if she has enough levels under her belt.

Once she gains the Experienced Close Combat Trait, Angel's options open up quite a bit. She can grab a Crowbar or Lead Pipe, or even wield two Nightsticks and beat someone into a pulp that much faster.

Simple weapons for simple beat-downs…it doesn't get much more fun than that!
