I HAVE A WII!!!

I was walking past HMV in Cambridge and I noticed that they people inside were stacking shelves…
My natural conclusion is that they have just unpacked their overnight delivery, so I popped in and asked…the fella stacking the shelves just laughed at me…
Then said yes but he did not know how many.. he believed that 5 were available for general sale…
So I bought one….

All I can say is that the Wii is quite simply the best consol I have ever played on!
My PC is now redundant for games…
All my other conslols are redundant.

I have only two problems and to be honest they are simply niggles, I think it is a shame the Wii will not play DVD’s it would have become the all in one unit if this was a feature, and I believe that even a firmware update will not enable such functionality. But I can also see the benefits of it not playing DVD’s. It keeps a distinction about the product.

My other niggle is the wireless connection, I don’t have a wireless access point or router but I do have a wireless card in my PC, I have researched this to some extent and I believe that setting up an Ad-hoc connection through my PC should be technically possible…. YA RIGHT!
The Wii can see it but that’s about it! But lets face it that’s just me being tight, the purchase of a wireless router will solve this, just a shame I cant do it on the cheap. (thats why i dont have a wii code to add yet)
Unless anyone has experience?

I have Wii Play aswell and the games are ok, worth it for the extra controller, I got it from Tesco for £32.99

But the Wii is quite a revolutionary product, Its fun to play games again! And bloody hell it’s addictive.
My personal favourite thing about it though is the fact that a game of tennis can last 3 mins and decide who is making tea!

I was fine with the no dvd playback, sure would have been nice but they would have had to put in things like optical out and other things for surround sound that wold have driven up the cost. Also i never used my ps2 or xbox as a dvd player and i wouldnt start now.

I had no problem with the wireless except it will only works with WEP, which is a bit pants ment i had to change the security around on it.

Also WII RULES!!!!!

My PS2 has been a loyal DVD player for 4-5 years now so if you have a PS2 then you're not really in need of another console with DVD playback.
