WII system updated crashed

Finally got my wii on tuesday and then last night got the updates to work. However the second one crashed about a 5th of the way through, Coz it says dont turn off the power im scared to reset incase it breaks it. Anyone else had this? I left it on from 9 oclock last night and its now 3ish in the afternoon and im at work. Tried phoning nintendo but was in a half hour que and cant sit and wait on that.

Sure your connection is ok?

If its not done now i doubt it will get done. if you cant get hold of Nintendo i would turn it off and try again.

Read on a page about a guy that just turned it off and it was ok, It was working, got the first one ( after a while) but the second one crashed after 10 mins at 20%ish. I think ill give nintendo a phone when i get in, dont wanna risk messing it up 2 days after i get it.

If it's anything like Telewest cable box, when that updates it takes ages and has a similar, "it's updating don't turn off" type message. but if your electricity went off or something you don't have a choice, so I know with the Telewest cable box if it does crash, you just turn it back on and it should kick in were it left off.

If your not sure though, I would definately say speak to their support team before doing anything, i'm sure they've probably had umpteen cases of that happening and problably know inside out by now how to rectify it.

im pretty sure it wont do anything but i'd rather be safe. Also if they tell me to turn it off and it turns it into a brick i can blame them. gutted though, Dying to get into zelda, only got to play it for 20 mins last night. Cant get red steel anywhere

Mines updating atm :\, it did it once and then went black and mentioned the screen burn reduction that it was in the settings..etc and then tested the connection again.

Im suprised i got my wii too, went trafford centre to get some last presents early, and ended up near game so i figured i might aswell wait till it opens, turns out they got 30 Wii's in stock, so i bagged one ^^.

That'd be good.

Always nice to fnd threads about problems, where the problem is identified and then how it is actually fixed as well.

The amount of times i've bene looking for answers for stuff and you find a great thread about it and it suddenly stops dead with... "FIXED" and not explaining it. tis a tad annoying when it happens.

Alot of the time that is down to it being something stupid and people not wanting to own up to Not thinking of the obviouse. must admit i've done that a few times.

Phoned nintendo again and was put in a 50 minute que. So i just gave in and turned the power off and on again. Took a minute to load back up then the download started again, went for dinner n came back and it was updated. Seems fine with the channels now working. Though it worked for me I am not saying it will definetly work for everyone. On the plus side i got to play zelda. gettin good though kinda weird story, just gettin back into the twilight place after gettin sword and sheild so not really too far in.
