My WII is broked!!

I am absolutely gutted!!!

not even 4 weeks of game play and my nintendo WII is broked!!

We are getting an error code which says something along the lines of

"an error has occurred. press eject button and remove the disk, then turn off the console and refer to the wii operations manual"

has anyone else experienced this?? the place i got it from is saying that because its outside of the 28 day guarentee they can not just give me a replacement, my console will need to be sent back to nintendo
How long is that going to take and are they just gunna send me the same faulty console back??

Would it not be covered by the 1 year's manufacturers warranty?

I thought all electrical goods were covered with a 1 year guarantee after that you go to the manufacturers? i could be wrong.

This has happend to me a coupla times.

1) the disk might need a good whipe down, check for scratches! I presume you've tried other games and this, but it's just a thought.

2) When that failed me the second time this happend i unplugged it from the power socket, plugged it back in, and then it would load discs fine.

The warranty is covered by nintendo not the shop you buy it from ( I think) because I'm having problems with my WII remote, the sensor has gone wrong and it will have to go back, the shop won't take it and it's not covered anyway any data that is lost or stolen by the shops isn't covered.

I sent nintendo an e-mail last week but got no reply so I would suggest ringing them instead it may be easier. Don't know how long it will take to come back though or wheather it will be a new console or just a fix.
