Nintendo DS Lite formats??

this may seem like a silly question but i was just wondering if the nintendo DS lite console comes in different formats like the bigger consoles??

My mother in law lives in america and offered to get my little girl one for her birthday (we live in uk) but will the games over here work on it?? is there anything that would stop it from being fully functional in the UK if its been bought in the USA??

sorry to seem dumb i just dont want her buying it if its no good over here x

The only thing I would be wary of is the charging unit but if you get a usb charger and do it from your pc there should be no reason it wouldn't work

thank you so much for your replies,, this is going to be a nintendo nuts house very soon lol, i already have a nintendo ds lite and a wii and now both my son and my daughter want one too

will tell gma she has the ok to buy them for the kids

also could i not charge theirs up using the charger that came with mine??

Yes US bought DS's will work fine over in the UK the only thing is NOT to use the charger from the US to charge them in the UK. You can use your UK charger to charge US DS's tho its only the US adapter you should not use.

THe games will work fine as sash said the DS is not region locked so any game from anywhere will work on them.

You can also buy spare chargers for your DS from anything around £5 up so if you need a spare ( cos you cant get yours back from the kids ) try that
