With what may well be their finest line up to date, The Great Escape have announced even more stellar live turns who will be joining Kasabian, Passion Pit, Little Boots, British Sea Power and The Maccabees for what will be their fourth event.

With 34 venues across Brighton playing host 300 of the finest cutting edge bands as well as a series of outdoor gigs, afternoon shows and after parties taking place, The Great Escape will be kicking off this summer’s festival season with an almighty bang.

Celebrating the release of their third album 'Touchdown' Brighton's finest Brakes are confirmed to play an unstoppably triumphant hometown set showcasing some full-throttle rock 'n' roll. Joining them is Juliette Lewis with her new band Juliette and the New Romantiques, plus folk-rockers Noah and the Whale will be cranking up their amps for 'The First Days Of Spring’. Canadian New-wavers Metric's 'Fantasies' will be coming to the fore, whilst the stomping Glam-pop of Rosie and the Goldbug will also be making waves by the seaside. Super-talented multi-instrumentalist Patrick Wolf will be displaying his flamboyant folky glam-rock, the hotly tipped Hockey are fixed to strut their gritty funk and Leeds three-piece Sky Larkin are geared up to enthral with their effervescent sounds.

The much admired Hatcham Social are set to drop their sublime indie-pop stylings, plus their will be live shows featuring Peggy Sue's folk-noir, the muscular riffing of Baddies and Mancunian trio We Have Band's disco-rocking. Other bands confirmed to rock your socks off at this year’s Great Escape include Broken Records, I Blame Coco, Marnie Stern, Soap and Skin, Sad Day for Puppets, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, The Phantom Band, Times New Viking, Mechanical Bride, Roses King Castle, Charlie ASH, 80z Kidz, Gable, De De Mouse, TV Off and Planet Earth.

There will also be live sets from Dag for Dag, Hoodlums, Panama Kings, The Balky Mule, Alan Pownall, Turbowolf, Jakko and Jay, Dan Mangan, The Males, Mothlite, Bang Bang Eche, Slow Club, Video Nasties, Giantess, Solid Gold, The Kilimanjaro Dark Jazz Ensemble, Shining, and The Bewitched Hands On Top Of Our Heads.
