The search is on to discover Britain's brightest new bands as O'Neill's Undiscovered Live 2006 kicks off this month. Now in its second year, over 1,000 bands are expected to battle it out in O'Neill's pubs to reach the grand final at the Carling Academy, Islington in August. Everyone loves live music and Carling is the perfect pint to enjoy with your mates as you follow Undiscovered Live 2006 through the local heats to the final. Local heats will take place at 50 O'Neill's pubs across the county from April through to June, with regional finals at O'Neill's in Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff, Reading, Leytonstone and Soho, London in July.
With the support of the music industry, backing from Jackson Guitars, Marshall Amps, Roland, a major record label, plus Playmusic magazine, the competition is set to be even bigger than 2005 which saw London band Livingston crowned as champions by Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray at the grand final at the Carling Academy, Islington.
As well as providing a showcase for raw talent, O'Neill's Undiscovered Live gives the winning band a shot at recording tracks at the famous Abbey Road studios, and music gear from Jackson Guitars, Marshall and Roland. Plus, with the judging panel including the Head of A&R from a major record label, O'Neill's Undiscovered Live hopes to catapult breaking bands to the top.
