There is an underground hardcore festival happening in London next weekend, calling Running Riot Fest. Previously called "Ninjafest", an annual sold out event that had been going on for 6 years, the fest has had a name change. The fest features amazing hardcore bands from all over the UK/Europe and the USA.

Reason: links removed
If you want to advertise on Total Format then please aquire permission or at least have the common decency to ask before you do. TF doesn't mind people advertising their gigs, sites whatever so long as they've had the manners to at least private message a team member to ask! Links removed!
bit harsh, sure i've done the same thing before in the past
no i'm farly sure you haven't put a full page ad on TF including links to myspace and whatnot Most people put "is this ok Det" or something along those lines and tbh normal rule of thumb is to ban when they advertise like this, so i was lenient

in all fairness if someone has pm'd a team member and asked permission to advertise, members of the general forum population wouldn't know. And if it is is a member they and know the boundaries when it comes to advertising I would say that's a bit different. But to come on and do this on your first post is a tad rude. After all would you paste a big poster to your neighbours fence?
eeek , just thought it was a bit harsh on the guys 1st post , when he could have been told via pm perhaps & pointed to the rules , i just recall a few friends i referred to TF getting a public shaming for not knowing the rules in full & them never returning because of it, pardon me though

I know what you mean and under normal circumstances, we do try to decipher the difference between a real human posting a spam advertisement unknowingly and someone deliberately coming on with no other intention than to get free marketing for their own site, as well as the bot posted crap that occasionally manages to get throught the bot filters.
In the registration page of TF, it does clearly point out that we have a zero tolerance policy regarding spam advertising and people signing up with no intention of doing anything other than posts external links, without first acquiring permission.
The bit that your not seeing though, is that behind the scenes, there are normally at least 10-20 spam accounts deleted every single day, almost all of which never have any intention to ever post anything other than a spam link. Some don't even get to the point of completing registration if I spot them quick enough.
The alternative, would be to allow anyone and everyone to post any kind of spam links they felt like, but I can categorically say right no, that if I had to do that, i'd pull the plug on TF first.
