George Clinton w/ Funk Brother Jack Ashford @ The Arches, Glasgow - Sun 4/11/07
 George Clinton is the undisputed Godfather of FUNK. For over 50 years Clinton has adopted a myriad of guises and personalities, led legendary outfits Parliament and Funkadelic, collaborated with Hip Hop dons Snoop and Dre, given birth to a whole genre of music - P Funk – and inspired numerous artists along the way. Without George Clinton, there would be no Prince, no Dr Dre and no Outkast; all hail the King of Interplanetary Funkmanship - here, at the Arches, for his only UK date outside of London. George Clinton is backed by Funk Brother Jack Ashford and his Funk Brother band. Ashford was a member of Motown Records in-house percussionist band The Funk Soul Brothers, as documented in the film "Standing In The Shadows of Motown" and can be heard on numerous Motown classics, including "You Cant Hurry Love" and "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". 7pm door £17.50 adv Last edited by Detomah; 22-10-2007 at 17:06. |
