Beastie Boys star Adam Yauch has been affected by cancer. He has found a malignant tumor in a salivary gland on the left side of the jaw.
The rappers record company EMI stresses that this is a cancer thats simple to treat and expects the 44-year who to soon be completely healthy.
The disease does mean however that the Beastie Boys have to cancel a planned U.S. tour and the group's next album "Hot Sauce Committee Part 1."
The disc should have been on the streets in mid-September but the hip-hop trio are now on CD pause indefinitely.
"I was looking forward to the concerts, but my doctors have made it crystal clear that this is not something you can just put aside and deal with later" Yauch said "I regret that the tour has been canceled".
