The current favourites with the bookies are Sweden and Turkey, but personally i'd say Finland, France and maybe even the United Kingdom have a chance.
I've personally gone with Finland, but I don't know if a rock song could possibly win it twice in three years.
My reason for thinking the UK actually may have a slender chance is that Andy Abraham has been pimping himself big time with the various media outlets in Serbia and the people over there seem to love the fact that he comes from humble beginnings as a dustman.
All the press seem to think Sweden will walk it though, but personally I think the lead singer looks like a car crash and looks like she's been under the knife far too many times and that could actually put people off, people are fickle and a lot of people many abstain from voting for it, regardless of whether they like the song or not.
I also think France has an outside chance, the song is quirky and catchy and the French have broken the mold by singing in English for the first time in the competitions history, so ya never know, they may get a lot of votes just on that.
Of course, you can never rule out any of the Eastern European countries though, simply on the fact that political and regional voting comes into play and that there are so many of them that stick together with the voting that it makes it almost a farce with the current voting system.
Id probably vote bulgaria though, made me proper giggle
She must have had some major computer tweaking done on her voice for that video, cause she was really awful singing live last night. I reckon they would have got through if it wasn't for her singing, bizarre mix of ska, 80's rap and whatever else they've thrown in there, definately not the typical old fashioned eurovision style song anyway.
I think my favourite is definitely Finland. I very much doubt we have a chance in hell, Det, the UK always fields absolutely shit acts to EuroVision. Ireland's act will be funny, though...
For anyone interested, which is very few looking at how few bothered to vote on here, Russia won.
Watched it from Bosnia onwards, and tbh there were several better acts than Russia but the political voting kicked in... I'd personally have preferred to see Greece or Sweden win, and of course we came dead last. Ah well, there's always next year's farce...
the impression i have of all the recent years, is that all the ex eastern bloc
countries proper take the piss, and vote for each other, in order to get a winner from their
part of the world :S
I watch it purely to listen to Terry Wogan take the piss out of all the acts and slag off all the political block voting that goes on. The whole thing is a joke. By the sounds of it tonight he is trying to get all Western European countries to boycot it.
France was proper funny, golf cart and bearded ladies. Spain was genius too.
Russia was shit, voted for by all the other ex-russian countries.
I agree that the French entry was actually amusing, but Spain's entry was one of the biggest piles of wank in the contest this year. In fact, I prefered the Bosnia&Herzegovina entry to it and I didn't particularly rate that either.
Still, the pirates from Latvia (I think) made it all worthwhile...
I think Russia are going to win it every year from now until they either abandon the whole idea or change the rules.
Like Pura said, almost every country that used to be part of Russia gave them 12 points, and there are hundreds of the shitholes.
I noticed all the Western countries gave Greece and Ukraine good scores, they had the 2 sexiest singers IMO which sort of puts to bed the whole myth that only gays watch it.
I didn't watch the singing, but I watched the voting just to see how bad the political voting was and it was even worse than I expected. It's supposed to be text voting now, so why does the whole of Ukraine try and secure their gas supply by voting for Russia in a song thing? It's bonkers.
The current favourites with the bookies are Sweden and Turkey, but personally i'd say Finland, France and maybe even the United Kingdom have a chance.
Isn't hindsight a b...
I didn't watch it myself, honestly I didn't even know it was on until people came into work 'did you watch...' (yes i watched it, id been at work since 1pm ...) Anyways, sounds like it was the usual political rubbish as it always has been for the last 10+ years (if not a lot longer).

Reason: fixed your quote for ya.
Without the political voting and mass eastern block strategic voting, I still think Turkey could have won it.
The Finland song was a really bad performance on the night, the blew any chance they would have had in a none rigged competition, never mind with the back slapping that did go on.
I'm still surprised the UK did so bad in honesty, we have so many Romanians, Polish, Russian, Bosnians, Serbians and all that over here that i'm surprised we didn't get points off any of them for at least being the country that lines their pockets and being the providers for their families back in their motherlands.
