F me, this is proper funny.
Will Ferrell plays a character in a movie called Step Brothers, from the writer and director of Anchorman and Talladega Nights. Anchorman was quite funny, but Talladega was a bit lame, in my opinion.
This new one however had me actually cracking up, and I never really laugh.
I think it's mostly a 'guy' film, although ladies may also enjoy it. Basically it's about two 40 year old losers who still live at home, and their single-parents meet and fall in love and have a relationship. The only problem is, these two assholes tag along when they move in together and begin a bizarre middle-aged sibling rivalry.
It's much funnier than Pineapple Express (poor), and a good bit funnier than Get Smart (which is good).
If you have an adult sense of humour, and are not too easily offended (it's not that offensive, just crude), get your sorry ass in line to see this.
Easily the funniest film of 2008, films this funny come along every few years and the last thing which made me laugh like that was Team America.
I can't give it 5 stars or anything, because it isn't a heartwarming tale of triumph over adversity, nor is it a stunning insight into the human condition, it isn't even a superior plot with twists and surprises at every turn. It is just so f***ing funny.
