What are your top five film moments, the ones that either moved or amazed you the most?
Film: Lord of the Rings - Two Towers - Scene: The riding out of Helms Deep where Gandalf comes with an army of men to save them and drive the orcs away. I have to say this is one of the few things in a film that's even brought a tear to my eye, it's just magic. After fighting away orcs for ages, and being forced into the last sanctum of the fort, they ride out in a blaze of glory, honour and dignity, meeting assumed death in one last fight, only to be saved by Gandalf and Rohan's army. I can't wait for ROTK because I know it has an even better speech and fight
Film: The Killer Scene: After accidentally blinding an innocent singer on an assasination, a hitman does one last job to pay for her eye operation, getting betrayed by his boss and also his best friend in the process. His friend realises the loyalty he owes however and gets the money for our hitman, unfortunately leading the gang back to the church hideout. After an immense firefight, Jeffrey kills the gang leader but gets blinded himself too. He crawls along the floor, trying to touch Jenny, but she's crawling too, and they both miss each other, crawl in opposite directions and then Jeffrey dies. A really sad moment...only made up by the brutal justice served by Jeffrey's cop friend as he kills the gang leader point blank after the police show up.
Film: 8Mile Scene: The final rap battle. As soon as the beat starts you know Em's gonna rock the set and flip the script. One and a half minutes of rap ownage on the so called daddy of the rappers, after he's been beat up, had someone shag his girl, kicked out of his house by his stepdad, racially abused, choked the last time on stage. He totally rips Poppa Doc to shreds and leaves him to choke and lose. Excellent piece of cinema. Even if you don't like rap, it's a film you dont wanna miss.
Film: Robocop Scene: Near the end, when Clarence Boddiker has blew his partner's car off the road into the mud, and is about to kill her. Murphy shows up, gun out, storming towards Clarence. He acts cocky thinking that he's just gonna get arrested then be corruptly bailed, but Murphy's flat line of 'I'm not arresting you anymore' takes the grin off his face. He gets crushed by some scrap metal but stabs Clarence in the neck and kills him, then goes back to the OCP headquarters and kills the corrupt CEO after he's been fired.
Film: God of Gamblers 1/2/3 Scene: Any of the final poker games. The baddie ALWAYS cheats and it always looks like Chow is gonna lose. But's always got a trick up his sleeve and the evil cheat0rs get shown up.
Film: Prison on Fire Scene: Where CYF runs along the beds at the end of the film to dropkick the guard, after almost killing the triad boss in the dorm. He just explodes, the room flooded, blood everywhere, and tears off the guys ear. Rage.
Film: LOTR: The Two Towers. Scene: Same as yours really, as its a great scene and piece of cinema .
Film: The Matrix Scene: Where they go back into the Matrix to save Morpheus (the whole sequence including the lobby, the roof and the helicopter) the lobby scene is just all out action with martial arts and guns which is great, the roof where Neo realises he can be as fast as the Agents, and the helicopter scene where he blows the room to pieces just to save Morpheus, and even jumps out of the helicopter to save him when he's about to fall.
Film: The Ring (Original Version) Scene: The ending scene with her climbing out of the well, and slowly walking towards the guy, the music adds to the suspense and when she finally climbs out of the television and starts walking towards him, you're screaming at the screen for him to run but hes too scared.
Film: X-Men 2 Scene: When the Dam floods and Jean stops the tidal wave of water from hitting the plane realising how strong her powers really are, its a shame that she dies or seems to die... .
Film: The Fast and The Furious Scene: The first race with Ja Rule, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and the chinese racer, where it looks as if Paul is going to win as he edges closer and closer to Vin Diesel's car then Vin turns on the Nos and zooms off and Paul's car runs out of steam and breaks down.
Have you seen the trailer for ROTK? The trailer has to be the most powerful one I have seen in a long while, every single time I watch it it puts goosebumps up my arms, shivers down my spine and tears to my eyesss. So I'm going to say the trailer, even though it's not one single scene in the film, but a collection of moments.
In the Shawshank Redemption, the scene from when Brooks leaves prison and ends up killing himself. You hear them reasing out his letter while he gets up on the stool and carves "Brooks was here" into the wall before hanging himself. There is just so much emotion going on at that part of the film, so much underlying story there too, makes me cry a river each and every time I watch it.
In Armageddon, when the Bruce willis takes Ben Affleck's place at the last minute, then when he's setting up to blow the nuke the gas thing blows and he gets knocked away, then the rush to get the detonator on time. And when they land on the ground and Chick sees his wife and his son, and the pilot goes up to Grace and says "Permission to shake the hand of the daughter of the bravest man I've ever met". Soooo emotional ><
In About Schmidt, at the very end when he opens the letter from his pen pal child, and finds the picture. You can't really explain in words how powerful this scene is - it's just the apex of the film and it brought tears to my eyes.
Maye this one is just because I'm Scottish, but I have to Include Braveheart. There's loads of parts in this film that are powerful - the story may not be 100% accurate but the Spirit of Scotland is there in the story.
The part near the beginning where William raids the fort and slits the man's throat who killed his wife.
The famous famous speech - which now seems a little overdone but I don't think anyone can say they weren't moved the first time they seen the film The heart and the spirit and courage of all the scottish fighters was overwhelming and absolutely fantastic.
I was quite overcome with emotion at the end when William dies at the end, where he is focusing on the child's face then sees Mirren coming to him through the crowds.
You hear the monologue at the end as well
"They fought like warrior poets - and won their freedom".
That line made me cry ><
EDIT: Alex said I could Have six so...
The usual suspects - Who is Keyser Soze??
The very end where the detective finally pieces everything together at precisely the same time you are - the bulletin board and the coffee cup, just as you see him walking out of the office, losing the limp etc. Absolute Quality. Fantasticallllllly amazing I just love it

That is a great scene from a great film, totally agreed .
A lot of good ones here, i totally agre with The Ring and Usual Suspects ones, as well as the LOTR fight. Can't wait for the 3rd one.
Lots of films brought emotions out in me.. even in that trains planes and automobiles where the guy at the end says his wife actually died ages ago and he has no where to live over christmas made me really cry.
Probably one of the most powerful scenes for me is the D day landing in saving private ryan. Bloody hell what a scene! Although it's very innacurate because it actually took the allies 3 days to take the beach.

Isn't that 'Kaiser Soss' as in King Sausage, a German recipe? doh I'm non-knowledged
I know it's a cliche but I cried like crazy at the end of Watership Down where that rabbit dies and joins the other ghost rabbit across the fields... 'Bright Eyes.. burning like fire' (Simon and Garfunkel) I'll never forget that scene.. was it Hazel? In fact the entire film was moving.. I want to watch it again.
I gotta do a Michelle a la American Pie here and say I can't remember the name of the film, but it's an American drama with a semi famous actress in it. She has several kids, but has the mind of a child herself. Her husband suffers from schizophrenia and he ends up killing himself, she has to cope with the kids (about 5 of them) and the courts try to take them away due to her mental disability and she doesn't even have the intelligence to work out how she can keep her kids but she loves them so much (sob) It's something like 'The Cotton Doll' or 'Puppet Maiden' or something doll related... every scene ****ing hurts I swear.
Aliens - The fight with the queen at the end 'Leave her alone you B***H!' ace that is...
The Green Mile, where the wrongly accused heals the woman with cancer.. ripped my heart out.
I agree with that scene in Armageddon.. not many films these days can bring out that feeling in you but that one did it.
Powder.. the entire film ****ed me over.. but in the end where he runs into the field and disappears, washing a wave of pure love over all the people following him.. I cried just watching them cry at the way pure love feels. I also keeled over about the deer, when he made the person who shot him feel it's pain.
Man I get PMT so much I cry at anything :S
OMG Silence of the Lambs, where Clarice has to search out that killer in the dark at the end of the film.. omg I TOTALLY felt her emotions right then.. such beautiful acting, Jodie Foster is a legend.
or the other scene in Braveheart when William's wife throat gets cut
LOTR definitely.
That scene in armageddon i have to agree with.
Cruel Intentions, i almost forgot about that one. Where he dies at the end
Now i'm gonna be sad and say Daredevil where Bullseye guts Elektra and her heart stops beating. It was just after hearing Evanescence's My Immortal that got me.
Don't laugh but I always cry at this particular scene lol but it's when the rebels are trying to destroy the Death Star and they're all getting wasted in their X-wings and such and such. It's Luke's turn to go down the canyon thing to drop the bomb down the pipe whole, his wing men get killed by the nasty Darth Vadar then you think Luke is about to die but then Han Solo comes along with the Millennium Falcon and shoots the bad guys dead.
The fact that the sun appears right behind the Millennium Falcon I think makes this scene really special.
Keyser= King in Turkish I think
Soze= Talk also Turkish
I have the dvd with special features, aparrently Keyser Soze means 'King of Words' or 'King of Lies' or something. It adds ever more dimensions to an already fabulous film.
This Definitely Contains Spoilers!
Life Is Beautiful: Wonderful Italian film. Set during the second world war where a family of Jews are sent to a concentration camp, and the father tries desperately to hide the awful reality of what is happening from his wee boy, by pretending it is a game. Hide from the guards, don't ask for food, don't get caught and you win a tank. The final scene from the movie, the camp gets liberated and the Americans drive in in tanks, and give the wee boy a lift. It's such a beautiful ending, even although his father and most of the other people are dead, the wee boy is still thinking that it's the game and that he won first prize!
The African Queen: Old Humphrey Bogart film, very romantic. The chemisty between the leads is amazing throughout the film.
The Princess Bride: the scene with the poison, absolute quality. I want to be Princess Buttercup!!
Amelie: which scene? I can't just pick one, because they are all fantastic.
Gone With The Wind: when Melanie dies, and Scarlett suddenly realises that she does love Rhett, but then it might be too late to make things better, then she still has her fighting spirit ''Tomorrow is another day..''

Hmmm, my most touching and weepy moment from any film i've ever seen is from a foreign film.
A Chinese Ghost Story (Honk Kong movie)
The whole movie pretty much toys with your emotions, but the storyline goes like so...
The film is basically about a young chinese man who see's this woman and instantly falls in love with her, but she vanishes and he can't find her. Anyway, he then goes hunting her down and in the end finds her in this little house in the woods miles out of town in the middle of the night.
Romance kind of blossoms, but she keeps pushing him away and wont tell him why.
In the end he finds out she's actually a ghost and only has a couple of days before she has to marry the evil ghost king type dude and will disapear forever unless her ashes arm moved from this evil place and put into a proper graveyard.
So this young man sets out to allow his true love to rest forever knowing he will never see her again, but knowing she will at last be at piece.
It's difficult to actually explain it, but it's the most romantic and touching film i'v ever seen, it even has a bit of humour in there for good measure though, just to totally screw up your emotions.
